Name Opinion

Now that we know we are having a boy we would like to lock down the baby's name. We've chosen Owen James as his first and middle names. We both love the name Owen and James is MH's middle name as well as his late father's first name. I'm 95% on board with this name but I'm still 5% hesitant because the initials will be OJ (like Simpson... ugh). A lot of people have said it's no big deal and no one will probably even notice since it's first and middle instead of first and last name but so far 3 friends/family have made the association when I told them the name (but everyone so far has overall has a positive reaction to the name despite making the association). What do you think? Would this stop you from using the name? Full initials well be OJV.[Poll]

    Tough one. Owen is one of our top boy name picks, and I love James. Personally I think I'd choose another MN.

    However, my friend's brother just had an Owen Joseph so it didn't stop them. Sorry to tell you but the first thing I said was "You can call him OJ!"

    Ha! This is so awesome...my hubby and I dont find out the sex of our baby till Tuesday but our boy name we've selected is a family name with the initials "OJ" as well (Orlando James)!! I will admit that the OJ Simpson association was the first thing I thought of when we put this name together also but I think its kinda cute. Im like you..I was asking a bunch of my friends if they thought it was weird and suprisingly no one did. I love the name you've chosen and I say go for it!!

    True story. No one has ever mentioned my first and middle name initials. Most people don't even know my middle name. Thanks for pointing this out :)

    I don't think I'd worry about it. It isn't even like you will always be calling him by his first and middle names together, hence making the OJ initials more obvious. Owen James is a great name. 

    I may have a different opinion if your last name is Simpson or rhymes with Simpson though!

    Haha yeah, SOB is pretty timeless where at least OJ will become less known with time, so at least there's that.

    I have a friend who recently named her baby Owen James. I think it's adorable! They were also hesitant, but they really loved the name and said F** it!!
