T is 2.5 and we got her big girl room furniture this weekend. Now I am trying to pick paint so that we can move her as quickly as possible before baby sister arrives. I found bedding I loved at macys.com, but it is discontinued, so here are my questions:
1. Did you pick your kids' bedding for their big kid room, or did you let them pick?
2. Did you try to pick something that would grow with them for a while or whatever "character", etc they were into at the time?
3. Thoughts on these 2 options (the furniture is dark and the wall color is tbd)

Re: Big Kid Room Questions
I like the first one. And I will not buy Ben "charecter bedding". They move on to new things too quickly.
We haven't done this transition yet but I plan on letting Stella pick out her own bedding to add some excitement to the change. I will try to sway her from any character bedding, maybe give her a choice between 2? I'm not a fan of characters at all, especially with bedding. They're around enough in other ways!
As for your choices I like the Target one best for dark furniture. Cute choices!
Mike had pirate bedding for his first bedding set. It had lots of blues in it and we painted the walls a shade of blue. I find that kids comforters get washed more often than adult ones and need replacing more often. His lasted a few years and now he has Star Wars bedding...still with shades of blue so it goes with the walls still.
I picked out both bedding sets with him in mind...but didn't specifically let him pick.
I forgot to say which one I like best.
I like both, but the first one seems more "restful". The second one is so bright I can't imagine sleeping in it.
I would probably pick it because I'm not a fan of character bedding. I could do a sheet set but not the whole comforter. Right now DD sleeps with a light blanket with her name and Minnie Mouse on the corner (so I'm contradicting the character thing) or a white down alternative comforter.
I plan on making her a quilt sometime in the near future that will have the colors in her room but can work with other colors. I'm working on one for the baby now and if it turns out well, I'll do J's.
I like the first one more, but I'm not a huge fan of the giraffes.
I like the first one
Right now, E just has regular sheets and uses various blankets (mostly the homemade ones that were given to him). I want to get him and A matching sets at some point, once I find something I love. As far as characters, not a big fan, but I wouldn't mind getting them a pillowcase of whatever their favorite character is at that point. That way, it is not a huge investment as he changes his mind monthly
1. Neither-my Mom picked it and I don't really love it-it's just not what I wanted, but it was an Xmas gift so I sucked it up and am dealing with it for now
2. I refused to have a character bed set-my Mom wanted to get Hello Kitty and I shot that down real fast. I wanted something that would last awhile so the one she got is all multicolored polka dots
3. Of the 2 I like the second one better
I am going to pick with her in mind. I think we are doing a toddler bed first - so since she will be in it for such a short time, I am probably going to get her Thomas bedding. I don't like character bedding BUT, I don't think she will be in it for more than 6 months. This way also, DS will be able to use it. Her room is pink and brown, so I'm not going to bother trying to match it and get some girly bedding that she will only use for a short time and then not be able to use it for DS. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Thomas-Friends-21545WC/14658858
We won't do character bedding once she switches over to the Full size bed. We will pick something that can grow with her.
I like your first choice best.
