Pregnant after IF

when feel pregnancy symptoms?

I am happy to share that my DH and I are pregnant after IVF #3, in which we used donor eggs.  Beta numbers were good, but I'm not feeling those pregnancy symptoms that I have read so much about.  I am just five weeks today.  Could anyone give feedback about what week they started to feel symptoms, especially when you felt nausea.  I am trying to calm my nerves about lack of symptoms.  Many thanks!

Re: when feel pregnancy symptoms?

  • Welcome and congrats.  I have had no m/s and barely any nausea my entire pregnancy.  Many women never really get m/s at all.  The little bit of nausea I've had didn't start until about 9-10 wks and was short-lived.

Most women don't get symptoms until later, so try not to let that worry you.  I know it would probably make you feel better to feel sick right now (LOL - love how IF messes with us like that), but trust me, there's plenty of time to feel like crap later on!

  • I was thinking the same thing at that point!  And then I started feeling nauseous and tired right around 6 weeks - I never had sore boobs or anything though.

  • Congrats!! I've not had a ton of symptoms. Mostly just some slight nausea with a little gagging, but never sick. My boobs have never been really sore either. My biggest symptoms were very tired and headaches. And even those didn't start until several weeks in. At your stage, I had no indication but the positive beta! :)

  • Congratulations!!  My pregnancy is also from a DE cycle!

I think I was 6w3d when the first wave of nausea hit.  Up until then, I had been feeling completely fine and had no symptoms of pregnancy.  But, once that wave hit, that was it.  I was sick from that point until about 22 weeks!

I totally get that having symptoms can be comforting.  There were days I felt better than other days and wondered if something was wrong.  I'm hoping for a happy and healthy 9 months for you!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.  I feel better already by your assurances.  Only IF would make a woman want to have nausea!  Any more feedback is welcomed.  :)
  • Congrats!!!  I started being nausaus (sp?) and extremely tired between 6 and 7 weeks.  Before that I did not have any symptoms at all!  Hopefull you get through your first tri wil very little symptoms, because once they did hit, I was SO sick!!

  • Welcome and congrats! My sickness began around 5 weeks. I was extremely sick for quite a few weeks, but remember that some women do not get any symptoms and have perfectly healthy pregnancies. I know it's difficult, but try not to be too alarmed. Every pregnancy is different!

  • I know how you're feeling, and I was the same way.  But please try to enjoy it - as impossible as that is for a PAIFer, because you will miss it if the nausea does start.

  • Congratulations!!

For me, my biggest symptom (nausea) started around 5-6 weeks...and didn't go away until 18-ish weeks.  I actually still will feel a bit nauseous time to time even now.  It was really bad up until about 13-14 weeks...I lost about 8 pounds over the course of a few months.  Don't wish for the nausea!! Smile  I also developed a HUGE aversion to chicken at the same time (5-6 weeks) which sucks because I LOVED chicken...and now even though it doesn't make me want to gag I can't get over the mental block of how repulsed it made me early on.

The exhaustion started a bit later, and didn't last as long.

I hope you continue feeling great!
