Itching like crazy!!!

Hi ladies,

My belly and boobs have been itching pretty bad since day 1.  I've been using a pretty thick lotion which has helped.  However, it has recently gotten to the point where it is getting out of control.  It doesn't seem to matter how much lotion I put on, it doesn't go away.  I guess I scratched myself in my sleep last night and now it looks like I got in a fight with Wolverine.  It's particularly bad where my bra hits under my left one.  Anyone have any miracle itch cures???

Re: Itching like crazy!!!

  • Oh man i'm the exact same way but with my legs..they are sooooooooo itchy I have scratched them to the point where I even bled a little. I tried lotion and everything and it doesn't work. I guess i'm going to try some hydrocotisone next..

  • What works for me is Caladryl the pink calamine lotion I'm sure a lot of us used as a child for poison ivy. Everyone is different though so I hope this works for you. :( Also, the Aveeno Oatmeal Baths were helpful as well.

  • I had the same problem.  Mine ended up being due to the hormones because I am pregnant.  However, my OB tested me for my gallbladder and liver because it could be an indication that something is wrong with your liver or gallbladder.  You should talk to your OB about it.
  • You should probably mention it to your OB.  You might have PUPPS.  Not much they can do and it will go away when you deliver.

I had some bad itching and was tested (negative) and have found the Target brand of Gold Bond (it has an orange pump) works really well.

  • When I itch, I lotion, lotion, lotion. Even if it doesn't take the "itch" away, it stops me from scratching. I also use plain vitamin E oil on my belly. It's not fun to put on, but I swear it keep my skin hydrated better than any lotion product on the market. Anything to stop you from scratching your skin when it is bothering you like crazy is worth while. Hope it goes away!

  • I started itching a few weeks ago and then realized I had PUPPPs on my belly. So far, Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap and Boudreaux's Butt Paste have really taken down the inflammation and itchiness. If you take hot showers, I'd cut the temp too. Hot water will probably just make it worse. GL!

  • I have PUPPS and the only thing that has worked for me so far is Sarna anti itch lotion.

  • hydrocortizone cream may help, I like cocoa oil that really helps me I get crazy itchy too and you can take benedryl I usually one take 1/2 because they make me really tired. You can also try baby oil that may help too, and as funny as this sounds if you take hot showers cool them down that will help too.
