Are crib toys safe-fisher price aquarium etc.

So I could use a lot of help.  My child has a very hard time at night and I have tried what feels like everything to soothe her.  We have a sound machine and twilight turtles and I'm wondering about things like a fisher price aquarium.  I'm just not sure if that is considered a safe thing for a crib .  I'm asking because I'm trying to make positive associations with the crib.  My little one has now been trying to push her way out through the bars and hit her head etc.  I'm hoping if she sees it as an entertaining place he might be less stressed.  I did bring her to the pedi regarding her poor sleep and physically she is fine, just not liking night sleep.

Thanks

I'm writing from a phone so excuse any sp errors

  • They are as far as I can tell. They tell you to put it up out of their reach for now, and they are super secured to the bars for now. I'm not sure DS could ever knock that thing off on to himself, considering I need feakin pliers to take it down myself. DS loves his rainforest soother, but now it seems to keep him awake a bit, because he likes to watch it so much. Can't hurt to try it. Just save the receipt and take it back if you don't like it. Walmart takes everything back.

  • We have had one for both boys. They are super secure to the bars. Heck my toddler never messed with it other then to press the button.

My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot.
  • Each of my kids has had a Fischer Price aquarium in their crib and I think it really helped them to learn how to fall asleep on their own.  As they got older and could press the button themselves I would hear the music in the middle of the night and would know they woke up and used the aquarium to help get back to sleep.

As for safety, the aquariums have been around a long time and so if there were major safety issues they most likely still wouldn't be being sold.  Secondly, like the other posters said, they are attached quite securely to the crib.  I just made sure to position it high enough so that his head couldn't get stuck between the bottom of it and the crib mattress.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • We have it and it DD loves it.  Now that she is getting more mobile she tends to turn it on by herself.  She kicks the button.  The only "danger" I see is on our crib it has to sit in one spot,Iit doesn't fit anywhere else and if she is spinning around in her crib she can bump her head off it.  But she hasn't done that yet.  We don't use the lights because she finds them too stimulating at night, but she loves the music.

  • Thank you all.  I got the rainforest soother today.  It only attaches to an end of the crib because of the wide rails but that works for me.  Thanks
