I know. And you've been pregnant longer than I have. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to have a child that's doing his best to be full term, but I am uncomfortable.
those last few weeks can be really tough, especially when you are already caring for a child and can't devote the time to taking care of yourself and your own needs.
if you have any time to yourself, i'd suggest naps, swimming, acupuncture and massage! all great ways to encourage baby to be in an ideal position, give you a little boost of endorphin and relax all at the same time!

My OB actually told me it was fine to drink a glass of wine a week.
i did too
I didn't drink a drop when I was pregnant with Warner because I was way too uptight. and this time I'm not nearly as cautious with a lot of those little things (I'm really living life on the edge eating cold cuts!!), but for some reason I can't pull the trigger on the wine. it's like I'd wouldn't be giving this baby the same advantage as Warner or something irrational like that, lol. I don't know...I might give in if I make it to 40 weeks :-)
I was thinking about how close you are when the due date list came out!
I feel you on being done with pregnancy, and I have about 6 more weeks to go. I'll cross my fingers that #2 comes a little early for you. I know I'm hoping my #2 is early (just a little early, so I can start to get my body back!).
I'm convinced my prenatal massage at about 37 weeks kicked my labor off. After that, my Braxton Hicks just came more regularly and stronger over the next 4 days, when I went in to labor.
the last few weeks are really miserable! But are nothing compared to the pure exhaustion of taking care of a newborn.
Riiiight, so there's that to look forward to. Um, enjoy it now?
I think you should totally drink a glass of wine and then compare W and New Baby's IQ scores when they're adults. Do it for science!
LOL, that's a good point...I owe it to the science community to get to the bottom of this matter!
and as far as being tired taking care of a newborn...eh, I know it's tiring, but from what I remember a couple hours of sleep postpartum are SO much more satisfactory than a night of feeling like fudgie the whale flopping around on dry land, completely unable to get comfortable.
plus, this is a second baby, they don't need nearly as much attention as the first one, right? ;-)
the only drink i had with tomas (beside a single sip here and here - maybe once a month) was a glass of wine the night before active labor started.
i drank wine much more frequently with audrey and she is already more precocious, more active, more inquisitive ...and way more sassy than he was at the same age. so there is some science!
when i say much more frequently, i probably had 1/2 glass of red wine a week beginning around 25+ weeks and maybe 3/4 glass of red in the last 6 weeks (i was pregnant for nearly 42 weeks both times).
the eggplant parm dish is delish...i double the sauce and serve it with linguine. i also double the spices and herbs (especially the basil and thyme).
here are some things i share with my students (most are FTMs) when they reach 40 weeks (joelen is a Chicagoland nestie!):
So your ?Guess? date
has come and gone! Besides the obvious of hypnosis, chiropractic, spicy foods, acupuncture,
acupressure, moxibustion, yoga, and walking, here are some fun things to do to
pass the time:
Go Underground: Turn off your phone,
stay away from email. Seriously, screen your calls. The repetition of ?When do
you think you will go into labor?? or my personal favorite, ?Why haven?t they
induced you yet?? is enough to make any woman go crazy!
Rest: Schedule naptime daily. You never
know when you might go into labor, or how long your labor will be. Enjoy this
peaceful period to rest.
Pamper Yourself: Get a new haircut,
treat your nails to a mani/pedi, have a prenatal massage, enjoy a long warm
soak with Epsom salts, get your eyebrows waxed.
Get Your Freeze On: Freeze soups,
muffin mix in tins or round drops of cookie dough so you have perfectly sized
pieces to pop in the oven. Don?t forget to repackage them into airtight freezer
containers once frozen. Here is a blog I like with lots of great ideas for
freezer and make-ahead meals: https://joelens.blogspot.com/2007/01/freezer-friendlymake-ahead.html
Become an Esty Queen: Learn a new
craft. Maybe you?ve always wanted to know how to knit, or you?ve been dying to
start scrapbooking. Now is the perfect time!
Replace Brain Cells: After months of
suffering from ?pregnancy brain,? nourish the remaining cells and read a new
book (or 2, or 3!). Make a list of books you?d like to read and check them out
of your local library.
Snuggle Up: Spice up the late night
romance (or early morning, or midday, or, whatever time of day you like best)!
While finding comfortable positions may be challenging, being intimate with
your partner is one of the best ways to encourage labor and to enjoy these last
few days.
Become a Movie Critic: If you like
going to the movies, you may find that life after baby is not quite as
conducive to movie outings. Enjoy a few pre-baby movies in the theater. And
butter your popcorn, it doesn?t counts after 40 weeks! J
Redecorate: Nesting mothers have a
great eye for design. Maybe it?s just moving the furniture around, or maybe
you?ll completely redo the color scheme in your bedroom!
Paint the Town: Schedule an outing with
friends or family every day. How much fun will it be to call and cancel because
you are in labor!

I hear you! I feel like I am not nearly ready for this baby to come (even though I guess realistically I am) but it will be cool to finally meet the brand new one. Some days, I feel like I can barely walk (today is one of those days) because the baby is so low, I think she might fall out (if only it were that easy). I have an unreal amount of pressure/pain in the downstairs area, and I often wonder if it's normal (Liam was transverse so I never experienced anything like this). Plus I am preparing myself for actually having to give birth, and hopefully by a different method this time around (praying for a VBAC!) I was so prepared with Liam, and I ended up needing a c/s due to his position. You'd think I would have read some books or taken another class this time around. Oh well.
Hang in there, it can't be too much longer

Re: I have been pregnant for 1,000,000 years
I hope you deliver soon! I have a friend who was due about the same time you were and she just had her baby, so maybe you're next!
or at least 38 weeks?

I am not a drinker at all and didn't drink while pregnant or BFing, either.
You are almost there!!
One day, I'll log in and you'll have a birth announcement!
Riiiight, so there's that to look forward to. Um, enjoy it now?
