Re: **whine wednesday**

  • I feel like I can't keep up with my house.  I need a plan.  Something to do every day that takes maybe 15 minutes or so.  I'm sick of spending HOURS every weekend cleaning because I don't do anything during the week.  Does anyone have a schedule of things that they do during the week to cut down on the weekend time?  DH is down to help me but I just feel overwhelmed and don't know where to start.

  • I'm frustrated with B's sleep schedule. She was sick 2 weeks ago and was up a lot, which was to be expected. She's healthy now (knock on wood) but she's still waking up 2 times a night, and no flames, but we still have to give her a bottle to get her to go back to sleep. Last night she was up at 4am and just wanted up. I changed her and gave her some milk. Still up and cried when I put her in the crib. She was then playing the game: lets throw everything from the crib so mommy comes in to my room. For the first time, I turned the sound down on the monitor (b/c if I had to hear her cry I would too) and watched her. After 10 minutes she was back asleep, without her pillow, blankie or paci. I feel like a bad mom, it was our first CIO. Then she slept in this morning and missed her Gym class. I'm hoping it gets better soon:(

This is the whole idea of how Flylady works.

Dh is thinking up plans to remodel our kitchen with our refund money and I just know its going to go over. He wants more expensive stuff but we don't live in a neighborhood that is going to attract people that will pay for fancy stuff.

  • I'm on hold with US airways right now. I had to add the twins to our flights for Mexico. You have to do it over the phone because infants have to pay an international flying fee/tax. I was thinking maybe like $50'ish... um $119 per lap infant.  GAH!

*Oh and then the woman comes back and says since I booked through travelocity, not the airline directly it's an ADDITIONAL $35 per infant... unless I want to add them through travelocity. Why didn't she say this 20 minutes ago?!?!

  • I'm overloaded...my brain is NOT functioning correctly anymore, I can't sleep (which isn't helping the fact that Tori has been waking up at night again thanks to the bottom 2 yr molars), I can't remember things that I should, and am just forgetful in general.  Last week, I think, I forgot to feed my dog breakfast - I really don't know, so I fed her in the afternoon & she ate it right up, which doesn't mean I really didn't feed her but I honestly couldn't remember.

DH's date to leave just got moved up by 3 days & we have SO much to do before he ships out.  My brain is constaintly going  with to-do lists & things I need to know before he goes, and I can't get it to stop.  I'm tired, stressed, out of sorts, and have been losing patience with Tori & I feel horribly about it.  Gah...I really hope I start feeling like myself again once he leaves.

    That is super obnoxious!

My parents just had to postpone a flight (death in the family) and they booked their car through Travelocity and the car rental place said they wouldn't hold their car because it wasn't directly through them.  Such a fiasco.  It should not be this hard.

  • I have a couple.

    1. Our hot water heater has been leaking water and yesterday, our CO2 monitor went off.  I had no idea what it was and it was in the basement, so I didn't figure it out for awhile.  A few fire fighters, a fire truck and National Grid later, and we were safe for now, but if our vents got plugged at all, we would have been in serious trouble.  I am frustrated that DH didn't look into fixing it while we were gone last weekend and that he was annoyed with me when I called him about it.  He is home today replacing it.

    2.  My friends keep sending me the "get a ton of books/stickers/etc." things.  You have to send the thing out to 6 more friends and get back a ton of whatever.  I am not good at that stuff and I don't know that I have 6 other friends who would do it.  Wah wah.

    3.  Mia still gets up to eat something 5 nights a week.  Usually between 3 and 5.  I tried letting her cry/fuss, not feeding her when she wakes up and giving her a big snack before bed, but she is starving in the night.  20 months old and still getting up is making me crazy.

  • I just feel so bad for DH. He is in a lot of pain from his second (yes I said second) appendectomy. I can't be there with him all day, and getting up and down is tough for him. The original surgeon left a piece of his appendix in which got infected again and needed to come out. Poor guy has had three surgeries in four months.

  • I have about a dozen things I could write here.  But since my kids did about a year's worth of whining this morning, I just don't think there is any room in this house for one more whine.

But I bet I could find some room for some wine!

https://www.motivatedmoms.com/products.html has a daily chore pages that give you exactly what you're looking for.  It's $8 for the year.  I bought it once several years ago and then put all the chores into my own personal task list.

  • Things are very uncertain with my job for next year and it is really stressing me out. Out school district has a huge budget deficit and there is talk of thr possibility of 90 teachers losing their jobs this year. I can't stand the waiting game. I know that I have no control over what happens one way or another, but the not knowing is killing me.

  • No matter what time I wake my 7 year old up, he can't get ready in time and makes us late.  He has to wake up, eat breakfast, go potty, brush his teeth and get dressed.  We have to be out the door by 7:30, so I usually wake him up at 6:30.  I also make sure clothes/breakfast are picked out the night before and no TV/toys until he's all ready.  Today I woke him up a half hour early and told him that he would probably have time to watch TV before we left...nope we were out the door late because of him.

It's especially frustrating because we had a Lego advent calendar before Christmas and the rule was he couldn't open a door before school unless he was ready early.  All month he only had to wait until after school once.  So, I know he can do it.

I made a chart today with a goal of being ready by 7:15.  If he's past 7:15, then he loses 2 minutes of fun time after school for every minute late he is.  For every day he's early, he'll get to stay up 5 minutes late Friday night.

Thanks!  and Thanks JNK for the flylady suggestion.  I've checked that out in the past, but never really got into it.

  • Hate car repairs....I need new brakes, getting them tomorrow...big chuck of change...ugh!

I also wish that my dog played nice with others.  We usually don's have to kennel him when we go away, but ILs are going with is in April, so we do....for like 10 days :(  I have a bunch of friends who would take him, but they all have dogs.  My heart breaks to leave him in a kennel that long, even though it is a nice one and the lady is really good to them.

  • I just checked into Strong Memorial Hospital for Pre Term Labor. The next two weeks are very critical for the babies and I am doing my best to stay positive.

DD was a lap infant for our flight to/from Europe and her fees were over $500!!  It's a percentage of the ticket price plus fees of some sort.  Such crap.
