Is it just me, or am I the only one that seems to be losing hair by the handful. I am shedding more than my dog. Please tell me I am not going to go bald!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! WHEW! I was freaking out and it seemed to start after daughter was 4mos old. She's almost 6mos now and I'm still losing it by the handfuls! My baby sister told me its not that I'm losing hair but that it was thicker and fuller when I was pregnant and now I'm shedding the "fullness". I hope that's the answer because I prefer not to go bald at 34. She's a beautician and currently pregnant and in nursing school so hopefully she knows what she's talking about! Good luck to everyone with same issue!
I too had the same problem and prenatal vitamins do not have what we need which is Vitamin B or BIOTIN. I buy mine at Target the 5000 mg and have been for a month and noticed a HUGE difference. I just went to my hair stylist who told me that it's the only thing that will help. I also stopped dying my hair until everything is stable. Hope this helps everyone.
Ladies, this is completely normal. It's all the hair you should have shed while you were pregnant. For some it starts right away after delivery, others months later (mine started 3MO post for both girls). It will last a few months.

jmcdionne is right. It's perfectly normal. I had to find out the hard way after my 1st pregnancy 2 years ago - no warning, it just started around 4 mos. You normally shed hairs every day, but when you're pregnant, your head holds on to most of it for 9 months. That's why you think you have thicker hair during the pregnancy. A few months after delivery, you play catch-up in reverse. It will level out and you will NOT go bald! Hang in there!!!
Mine started falling out at about 7 months and at 9 months has not eased up any. What doesn't fall out on its own she helps by pulling out. ugh. I heard eating full fat dairy should help....any truth to that? It's awful! I read you're supposed to check out all baby's fingers and toes (and inside the diaper for little boys) every day in case of "hair tourniquets" that might cut off circulation.

Yes! Someone just recently warned me about this! It makes sense though. Scary stuff. Who would have thought, right?

Re: Hair! Where did you go?
Yup,
Good thing we have a hair catcher in the drain. My hair is everywhere!
i am losing hair by the handfuls too. it's actually really disturbing even though i did read about this happening while i was pregnant.
its weird that it only starting to happen 3.5 months pp though.
it's not just you!! losing a lot too! a pretty good handful in the shower everyday! taking prenatals doesn't seem to help.

Great answers! I'm glad that I'm not alone. I'm going to go pick up some vitamin b/ biotin tomorrow and see if it works. Thanks.
