after the "taking LO out" thread i figured maybe someone could help. i can't seem to get my LO to sleep in public, and not sure if there's anything i can do to change it.
a little background: my LO is 11.5 weeks old. he is often tired after only 1-1.5 hours of being awake, but generally falls right asleep with some rocking and pacifier (which comes out before i put him down). i swaddle him, otherwise he punches himself in the face and wakes himself up. he takes several 45 min naps and usually one longer one from about 10-1 each day, and sleeps from 6-5/6 with one wakeup although bedtime varies anywhere from 5:30-7 depending on nap times.
he wails everytime i try to put him in the k'tan or ergo baby, and doesn't fall asleep in his car seat. right now i wait until he wakes up, feed/change him, and then go out for about an hour. i'd love to stay out longer but don't want him to suffer. anyone have any suggestions?
Re: getting LO to sleep (esp in public)
Fortunately, LO has never had a problem sleeping out in public. We had him out so early so it was something he got used to doing. When we are out he sleeps in my arms or either in his car seat, just depending on the situation.
Ill be honest, when he naps at home I hold him. Horrible habit but the one benefit is that he can at least nap really well when we are out and about.
