Results are in
At my doctor's office, they did the NT scan and blood work at 11 weeks and then I did the a/s and the second round of blood work at 18 weeks. They don't give you your results until everything is done. The results are 1/16000 for DS. This seems oddly good considering my age but no complaints from me! I am thinking maybe I heard her wrong and it should be 1/1600 but either way I will take it!
Sorry if this sounds stupid but I am still trying to understand all this testing. Is there a second number I am supposed to receive or just this one? They just said negative for AFP and then I asked the odds.
I am so used to getting such bad news from the doctor's all the time that I practically had an anxiety attack waiting for the results. My heart was racing and I was sweating. I am so happy now!
Update: I had asked the nurse if there was a second number and she said she would check with the doctor and get back to me. She just called back and said that one number is for everything. I'm not sure I understand but I will take it. And I confirmed the number again and it is 1/16000!

Great news. On my second test I just got a negative for open spins bifida....not sure if there is anything else still out there.
I am still waiting for them to schedule my level II u/s....I miss the level of attention we got at our RE. Lol.
