CVS coverage? Military medical info inconsistency...

I'm wondering if anyone else has done/ plans to do CVS? When I finally got to see a nurse/midwife at 11 weeks, (I apparently won't get a doc until delivery) she told us it was too late for CVS. She said week 8 was the latest it could be done. I took her word for it initially, but I've been reading that it should actually be done after week 11. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I'm skeptical. Anyone have any similar issues with military medicine? I'm on Tricare Prime, if that makes a difference.

  • When was your last period?  Because that is where she is counting.  For me?  I ovulate very early in my cycle (as in throwing off the standard circle chart by 2 weeks).  So I would have been well within my time period.

But if your period was not within the 11-13 weeks, that could be why she turned you down.

HOWEVER, if you do not like the response, you can call them back and ask for another appointment within the timeperiod for a second opinion.  If they wont give you the appt w/in the time period, you can demand to talk to your patient advocate.
