You have to be kidding..

I spent the morning with my attorney going over the contempt order which is being filed tomorrow. He might have even done it today.. Seconds ago I got a text from EX saying that he was resigning from his job and that the CS amount needed to be adjusted... (yea, whatever..) and that he would rather sit in jail than pay CS. 

 Well, I hope he enjoys jail. The judge will see right through him at the contempt hearing. What a POS.

    OMG, I'm sorry!  What a jerk!  I hope he does go to jail.  And I hope you get the money that you deserve somehow.

    Contrary to what every deadbeat thinks (including my own) you don't get less or no CS  if you volentarily quit or are fired with cause.

    The courts have already ruled against that shenangians.  If you need me to find the statute I will but I've posted it many times before and I don't have the time right now to look it up.

    Oh the text has been saved and already sent to the lawyer. He would be an idiot to quit his job. At this point, I can see a judge awarding CS based on his potential since it is apparent he cannot keep a job.

    A part of me thinks he is bluffing and that if he keeps his employment a secret he wont have to pay as much..

     Cant wait for our contempt hearing

    What is it about men that makes them just say stupid stuff all the time? No, not all BD are like this but it seems like whenever something doesn't go their way they throw a fit. My BD has said things like this before and then turns around and says how hes going to provide and be a good dad.... I still save every text because when it comes down to it if he doesn't provide for this baby (due in July) then I will make sure he is held to his words and actions. When it comes down to it you obviously can't change who the other parent is but you can make them either be an active parent or they loose their rights. Good luck to you and know that you aren't alone in messed up situations like this. We are here for you when you need.
