NBR: Really Random Question (Crafty!)

Let's say I wanted to make a sign on a stick. Imagine a piece of heavy weight paper that you could hold up/wave/use as a fan (whatever) using the stick. And when I say stick, I mean: larger than a popsicle stick, smaller than a paint stir stick. (Actually, a paint stir stick might work, but I'm guessing I'm not supposed to just take all the free sticks at Home D.)

If you have any idea what I'm talking about, where in the local Austin area do you think I could find a substantial supply of these mystery sticks (like, 50 - 100)? Have you ever seen anything like this at, like, Michael's?
