So I've narrowed down a few choices, and I'm leaning towards the crane. Is it a good choice? Also, would you say this is the best deal I can get?
Thanks, Ladies!
Re: Need help choosing a humidifier.
I bought the Crane and was very disappointed. It broke after 2 months and was a pain to fill up. I had to unplug the entire unit and bring it to the bathroom to fill up. You can't just take the top because water collects in the base and you need to dump that excess water. Plus to fill you have to turn the canister and fill from the bottom. I've been researching to find a better humidifier but seems like a lot of the affordable units are equally horrible!
I've never used a humidifier, but I asked about them here recently. Almost everyone said not to get a Crane - apparently they're a PITA. Here's the thread:

I have this Air-O-Swiss ultrasonic humidifier (bought at Bed Bath & Beyond with 20% coupon):

Of all of the humidifiers I have had, I like it best. It is super quiet. Has a humidity gauge and auto-shut-off. Does both cool and warm mist. We have hard water and I have had the least issues with white dust with this one due to the mineralization cartridge. My biggest complaint is that there isn't a handle on the bottom, which is where you fill it up but it is still easy to refill. It is pricey though.
When considering humidifiers, I would try to get an ultrasonic one so that you don't have to try to track down filters down the road. Plus I feel like filters are more likely to harbor mold and bacteria. And look at ease of cleaning and refilling.
