Success after IF

Baby Aspirin

I see that some women add baby aspirin to their cycles. What is baby aspirin? What exactly does this do? I am wondering if I might benefit by adding it to my upcoming FET cycle. I have done 3 fresh IVF cycles this past year resulting in 2 chemical pregnancies and 1 BFN. I had RPL testing done and everything came back normal per my RE it is just bad luck...

Re: Baby Aspirin

  • It is a low dose aspirin.  I used it during both my IUI cycles because my RE said it couldn't hurt.  If I remember correctly, it acts as a blood thinner which can increase the circulation/flow of blood to the uterus.

  • I'm on it because my RPL panel popped up with 2 clotting disorders.  However, it seems like many REs have all their patients take it as a part of IVF/FET cycles, regardless of if you have a clotting disorder or not.

Best of luck!  I hope you get your BFP soon.

  • I asked the same question about why. My RPL all came back normal but the RE has be on it now. I am taking it for my FET cycle. My transfer is the 20th.

I did an IVF cycle in October that was a BFN and one in Dec that was a chemical so the RE added low dose aspirin once a day for FET.

  • Thanks ladies!! Can I buy low dose aspirin over the counter? I am tempted to just start taking it without calling my RE. Awful, I know.. Anyone ever done anything like this??
  • I am taking baby aspirin for my FET in March. I had a failed fresh cycle in Jan. I've heard too many success stories of people taking baby aspirin(and doing acupuncture, which I'm also doing this time) so I am willing to try it. I've heard it can't hurt...I haven't asked my RE yet but after I meet with the acupuncturist today I'm going to call my RE and talk to him about all the acupuncturist's recommendations. I don't want to give medical advice, BUT, I have heard it can't hurt...so why not. I bought Bayer baby aspirin (chewable).  It's only like 80mg.  It's a very small dose. When is your FET cycle? What protocol are you on for FET?

  • Mrs. Babbsy, your twin girls are absolutely beautiful!! How are they identical?

I bought Bayer baby aspirin this morning and started taking it today! I am also doing acupuncture once a week and taking prenatal vitamin, D3, folinic acid, krill oil and drinking raspberry leaf tea per my acupuncturist. My transfer is schedule for 3/7. My protocol is pretty simple I almost feel like its too easy and therefore won't work but I started estrogen pills and patches on CD1 I have a lining check on CD21 then transfer. I will be adding in progesterone suppositories too. When in March is your FET? What is your protocol?
