My 1 yr old decided to put my cell phone in the toilet today. Now, we only use cell phones because we thought we'd never need a house phone. I'm almost 38 weeks and if I go into labor at the house while my husband is at work, how in the world will he know???? Timing does really suck and it's making me freak out even more about labor. I was induced with our daughter so I don't know how labor is when it comes on naturally!! AH! One of those days where everything is on my mind.

    Try letting it dry out for a little while. It might still work later.

    take the battery out, put both parts into a bowl, cover with regular rice (does need 24 hours tough) the rice will absorb the water still inside... (this will dry it out, but they phone may still not work... depending on how long it was in the water) GL

    I recommend this to to all of my customers though I generally say it can take up to 72 hours.  Whatever you do...DON'T APPLY HEAT! 

    Also, who is your provider?  Call them about a loaner phone to get you through.  Also, do you have an old phone laying around the house from this same provider?  What about your friends and family?  If they do, it should be a pretty simple process to switch your serial number and viola! You should/could/would have a working phone.

    What kind of phone is it? My fell in the water bowl & I have an iPhone.  Someone told me to put it in a zip lock bag with rice. Lay it flat for about 12 hours & it should work. I tried that & it worked.

    It's just a verizon phone.. not actually sure what kind... it slides open?? lol My husband found Emery (DD) as the phone was emerged and put it in some rice. So far it will not work but thanks for all the input! Maybe I'll just get a new one!
