Tax refund delays?

Anyone else have this happening?  I filed on 2/5 and both were accepted on the 7 and 8 and today, the where's my refund site is showing a federal return date of 2/28.  I don't ever remember it taking more than a week for federal in the past.  I'm glad I didn't plan to use the return for anything important or time sensitive!

    Yep, taxes are delayed this year. My dad does taxes and received an email from the IRS saying they would be delayed. He has been letting all his clients know so if you had someone file your taxes they should have told you.

    hmm. I just filed mine two days ago and I just checked and it said BY 2/28 as well.. The TaxAct software told me 2/22 though (10 days after I filed). So I wonder if the IRS is just telling everyone 2/28 that filed in february? We will see what happens.. If I get mine by the end of the month it will be OK for us.

    I think TT told me by a certain date too, sometime this week I think.  I was just wondering how much of a delay that the people who wait until the last minute will have.

    Ours was not delayed, but I filed in January. Where's my refund did give me a date about a week later than when it was actually deposited, you may be surprised! I had ours in less than 2 weeks. It came on a Tuesday which shocked me since I though they used to deposit on Fridays!

    I e-filed mine last Saturday and my federal refund was deposited in my account today

    My husband and I efiled on Feb 5th. The Taxact website says it should be deposited in our acct on the 15th. When I look on the IRS site it has no record. So who know.

    Today when I checked it says scheduled for 2/17.  Weird, but better than being audited!

    I too filed several tax returns on Feb 4th and they do not even have an anticipated refund date yet. Also, returns I filed on Feb 1st had the refund date as Feb 14th. All the returns I filled up until Feb1st received their refunds more than a week early, but the Feb 1st returns said there was a delay and the refund date was still Feb 14th (meaning no early deposit). In my case it seems "delay" means no more early refund deposits. Some states are taking up to the last fiscal week of the year to issue state refunds because they can continue to spend tax dollars without paying interest. The slow economy means our money comes and goes as fast as the government wants it to.
