I'm 25 weeks with an anterior placenta and just the past couple weeks started to feel the baby. I felt the baby usually at night when I was getting ready to go to bed and a few times during the day. The past couple of days I haven't felt a whole lot. I even will poke my belly to get a reaction and maybe get one little kick out of it. Im nervous... Where is he/she???
Also, I feel like I could be getting kicks right above my belly button. Am i even far enough along for the baby to be up that high?
Re: Where is my baby???
At 25 weeks there's still a lot of room for the baby to move around, and it's normal for movements to be inconsistent. Most doctors don't become concerned about lulls in movement until after 28 weeks. I've never had an anterior placenta, but I'd imagine that could make things even more difficult prior to 28 weeks. Sometimes baby's just have a string of quiet days, but if you're really concerned or feel somethings off, call your doctor for advice. You could also try eating or drinking something sugary and laying down on your left side for an hour or so to see if that gets LO moving.
I think at 20 weeks the uterus is usually right around the belly button, so by 25 weeks it could be several cm above the belly button.

I have an anterior placenta as well and I can go for a while without feeling baby. My doctor said that after 27 weeks is when you should start keeping kick counts. Until then there is no need to worry although that's easier said than done. At 20 weeks your uterus reaches your navel so since you are 25 weeks you are right at the point where you uterus is moving slightly above your navel so yes you can feel baby that high...
I also have AP and usually feel baby mostly at night and maybe a few times through out the day. Sometimes I only feel the baby in the evening.
Try drinking some OJ-- that seems to do the trick to get my baby going...
Your uterus is approx 5 cm above the belly button, but that doesn't mean that's as high as the baby can kick...

I have been feeling movement everyday since about my 19th week. I don't have an anterior placenta, though.
However, when I poke her.. she doesn't necessarily wake up or move either. Until you're further along & the baby is big enough to feel everyday, I really wouldn't worry about it. Around 28-30 weeks is when drs usually say that movement should be more consistent.
