2nd Trimester

Does anyone know- at what point do they turn?

At my ultrasound the tech didnt say anything (I dont think she is allowed to- I think my MD has to talk to me about the results) but the feet were DEFINITELY down by my left pelvic bone- the head was below my RIGHT rib- so in a diaganol and not head down--

Does anyone rememebr at what point they turn?

Thanks in advance.

  • They can turn at any point... my LO was breach until last week... and he could still flip back... all the way till your due date... even during delivery.

  • If I remember correctly my DS was head up at 30wks and my Dr said he still had plenty of time to flip...

  • Thank you ladies- that is what I thought, but I couldn't remember (just googled it while waiting-and found the same thing as you both said)

    Thanks again

  • they turn when they want to turn.  some may be 20 weeks others last second - although less likely.  some 30 weeks they are head down.

  • DD was breech and transverse my entire pregnancy until she finally went head down at 36 weeks. Anything before that point doesn't really matter.

  • My LO has been turning every week or so since 20 weeks.  He was head down until then, but I can tell by where he kicks me.  And sometimes I can even feel him flip over.

  • DS kept turning around all the way to 36 weeks or so.  They thought they might have to do a c-section b/c he was breech for quite a long time, but thankfully turned again at the very end.

  • when i had ds at my full term appointment they did a ultrasound to see where we was and he was head down. they induced me that day because of i had signs of pre-e and by the next morning when they broke my water he was breech.

  • I wondered that myself at my 19 week a/s. He was sitting the exact opposite of the way you descibed your baby. I think it's a bit early and he still have a lot room to move around so it can be anytime. It's later in pregnancy when your doc will let you know that baby has turned or needs to turn.
