1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? We were in HS---before we were an "item" we went to Putt-Putt Golf, but we became 'official' at Astroworld, a former Six Flags theme park.
2. How long until your first kiss? It was about a month---I was his first kiss and he was super nervous.
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? About 3 months for us to say it---but I knew it almost immediately.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. DH isn't exactly Mr. Romance, but our honeymoon had some very sweet & romantic moments, but a recent and favorite memory was this past November, I was swamped with work and we decided to go stay at a super fancy hotel about an hour from home and just indulge ourselves. We ate some of the most delicious meals and spent some good time together. I loved it.
5. Favorite romantic movie? I'm a sucker for The Notebook.

1. First date was the night after we met. We went to the movies with a group of friends. And then a few days later we went out to dinner by ourselves!
2. We had our first kiss the night we met (at a party at his house.) Oops. Guess I should have held out a bit longer, huh?
3. It only took a little over a month to say I love you. I knew right away. I probably could have said it a week after we met. I just knew he was going to be my husband.
4. Probably our honeymoon. Just the entire thing. It was so perfect.
5. Hmm, The Notebook maybe? It was always my favorite book. DH only watches romantic movies b/c I force him, ha!

1. First "official" date we had some drinks at a restaurant. We had me twice before that with friends and did a lot of talking those times as well.
2. First date (although the first two times we saw each other he did walk me home and I completely ran in the house and pretty much slammed the door in his face - I'm smooth like that).
3. It was about 8 months after that first date. I think we thought it earlier than that but are both pretty shy and wanted to be sure.
4. DH cooks a lot, and my best memories are always at the cottage when we are relaxed, eating a great meal, and drinking wine (oh how I miss wine), and bringing blankets to the dock and looking at the stars. Those are great romantic nights. He proposed at the cottage one weekend when we went up alone, and although I didn't know he was planning in and was in my sweats, it was perfect! He wanted to do it on the dock, but was afraid to drop the ring in the water, and also it was freakishly cold for April and there was still snow everywhere!

1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? We went and saw The Ring.
2. How long until your first kiss? Umm about 6-9 months before our first "date."
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? A couple months after our first date.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. DH left me little love notes in my work lunch bag before.
5. Favorite romantic movie? Toss up between a classic (Dirty Dancing) and the ultimate chick flick (The Notebook).
1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? He took me to a resturaunt I was unfamilliar with, and they cooked my food with something I was allergic too, I ended up in the emergency room..he's lucky I gave him a second chance!
2. How long until your first kiss? We kissed on our 2nd date. Our first was a disaster! Lol.
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? 2 months. See below.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. I am a total city girl, but DH is a country guy and he took me camping for the first time we spent the night together. We had been dating about 2 months at that time. But he took me to the middle of nowhere, took me mudding on a 4-wheeler, and laughed his butt off at me trying to rinse the mud out of my hair. I got mad and stormed off, almost got lost, and when I made my way back to our tent, he had built a fire and that's when he told me he loved me and couldn't wait to make me into his "little country wife..complete with muddy hair and muddy boots and little rednecks covered in mud" We have been inseperable ever since.

4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. When he proposed. It was Halloween weekend and he had my best friend take me out to dinner. When I got home he had lit a trail of candles all the way through our house from the front door to the back yard. I followed them and walked out to the back yard where he was standing next to 2 pumpkins that he had carved to say will you marry me.

Let me give some background first.
I've known FI since elementary school. We both went to HS together but never talked or hung out. Honestly, I could not stand him haha He went off to another state for college to play football. We started talking on facebook for a couple months and when he came home from Thanksgiving break, the night he got back and the first time I'd seen him face to face, we kissed on the front porch. Hadn't been on any dates yet. Just skype, phone, texts, and facebook.

Well, considering we just got engaged, I'd have to say when he proposed

1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? I met DH online, shortly after he came back from his deployment in Aghanistan. We talked online for two months. Our first date was to dinner and the movie 'Taken' We hit it off like we had known each other for years.
2. How long until your first kiss? First date!
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? This took awhile, neither of our families are very demonstrative. We knew how we felt about each other but didn't vocalize it so much. This all changed when my father passed away very suddenly. He was there for me every step of the way and we had this realization that things should never be left unsaid. From that day on we always made sure to vocalize our feelings.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. I don't know that there is one specific memory. DH does things for me all the time that make me know how much he loves me. While waiting for his deployment he made dinner for me everyday, took care of things around the house, did everything for me. It was wonderful, he spoiled me. Now I'm sad because he left for his deployment two weeks ago. I miss him so much!

1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? We started dating 2 weeks into high school. I skipped cheer practice and walked home with him and our two guy friends. We played touch football and won (he did the worm, lol, dork) and then he drove me (on his moped, haha) back most of the way to school (didn't want my parents to see us!) and he kissed me. We thought we got away with it until my old middle school teacher told my younger sibling they had seen us and he told my parents.
2. How long until your first kiss? On that date but we had been best friends since 6th grade when he rode home on my bus to go to his friend's house and tried to get me to go out with his friend (ended up being one of our groomsmen!).
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? We were in high school and super close, I am sure something silly like a month.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. It is really hard to choose from 11.5 years of memories. I think how silly we get...we get laughing so hard sometimes...wrestling, frozen tater tot fights, etc. He is always willing to make me happy.
5. Favorite romantic movie? The Notebook, I'd love us to be old and go together. He's been my rock since I was 11. I don't know what I'd do without him.
2. How long until your first kiss? We were friends for a year and the night we started 'hanging out' we made out half the night. That is what actually started our relationship. ha!
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? He said it after about 4 months, I waited until almost 6.
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. Mine is a little less romantic, but the night I knew we would get married - we were in college and went to a basketball game. We got there late and there weren't any seats left in the student section so we sat in some empty seats in with gen pop. There was a couple with 3 little girls (all under 8) all in WVU cheerleader outfits in front of us. They kept staring at DH and flirting with him. He spent half the game entertaining those girls and missed an awesome game. I knew he would be great dad material that night.
5. Favorite romantic movie? Love Actually - ish, I am not a big romantic movie person.

1. First date #1 was on V-day in high school... we went to a hole in the wall Mexican place and were both pretty awkward. I dumped him about a year later when he left for college and I was finishing my senior year. Not my best moment, but it worked out in the end. First date #2 was seeing the movie Amazing Grace (not the most romantic movie ever... I'm pretty sure I cried and had mascara on my face during the "becoming official" talk).
2. The night of our second first date. It was the first kiss for both of us.
3. This one took a while (5-6 months?) from the second first date. (Neither of us had the guts in high school.) My guy is a physicist and he likes to know things for sure before saying them. Also, we were long distance (I was in college in Michigan and he was in grad school in Seattle) so it had to wait until we were in person.
4. He did a pretty excellent job proposing: left a love letter on my car in the morning, showed up at my place with roses, took me on a drive listening to a brand new CD by my favorite band that I hadn't gotten yet, hiked up to a pretty overlook above a lake and got down on one knee. It was the 4th of July so we capped the night off by sneaking out onto the roof of his office building and watching fireworks.
5. I love Jane Austen's "Persuasion". I think I like fact that that movie mirrors our story: First love that seemed lost turns out to be true love.
1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? Dinner and a movie at the mall - Uno's and Serendipity.
2. How long until your first kiss? First date was October 2001 (as friends), first kiss was August 2002.
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? 2 months
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. I love our engagement story, DH proposed on thanksgiving day in Central Park overlooking Wollman Rink. It was perfect.
5. Favorite romantic movie? When Harry Met Sally
1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? On our first date we went to a cool little restaurant and then to a movie.
2. How long until your first kiss? We kissed before our first date, we met at a bar and were a little tipsy, we kissed that night, ha.
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? My H said it to me about a month and a half in when he was drunk, but he said it for real about 3.5 months in
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. The day he proposed, it was so perfect and romantic. We went on an early morning hike up to a waterfall and he proposed there. No one else was around, it really felt like we were the only two people on Earth!
5. Favorite romantic movie? Love Actually
1. What was your first date? We have a couple first dates, but our first official date where we had matching feelings about each other was out to dinner at a nice restaurant.
2. How long until your first kiss? ^That date since we had been building up feelings before then and we had known each other for a while.
3. How long did it take you to say ILY? About a month. I waited until he said it first. He was so nervous; it was cute because I knew what he was going to say.
4. Favorite romantic memory: I don't know. There are a lot that stand out, but nothing is my favorite.
5. Favorite romantic movie? Probably The Princess Bride.

He invited me to his cousin's wedding.

It was that night

I remember he said it first, and caught me off guard. I thought it was pretty early, less than a couple months into dating?
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH.
Just spending the day together, watching movies.....in bed.
5. Favorite romantic movie?
The Princess Bride
1. Car shopping. haha. He was my boss (I know I know) and I wanted to know if there was a chance he liked me as more than a friend. So I dropped in his office one day and casually told him I was looking a new car but I needed someone to help "kick the tires" with me - my dad & brother were busy. He said he'd go with me!
2. A week after our car shopping experience. He had to decide if he wanted to cross that line or not. I'm glad he did.
3. He told me about a month into our relationship.
4. Ha...my husband is a super romantic guy when he wants to be, he's always doing small things for me. I'm so lucky, I hate to gush/brag but I married well. Even when we're pinching pennies during hard times, he will find something small and make sure I know he adores me.
5. Pretty Woman
1. What was your first date with your SO/FI/DH? Our first real date we went downtown to go ice skating (it was closed), then we went to see the train exhibit (it was closed) and finally we ended up just walking around downtown in the freezing cold talking about everything. As it turns out I wouldn't want it any other way
2. How long until your first kiss? Umm, second time we met and before we even went on the aforementioned date
3. How long did it take you to say ILY to each other? 4 months
4. Tell us about a favorite romantic memory with you and your SO/FI/DH. My husband lived out of state when we met and after we spent that first week together, right before he left, he took the Reese's pieces we got when we went to see Titanic (yes it was that long ago) and spelled out Miss you on my pillow, then he sent me flowers two days later. I was hooked.
5. Favorite romantic movie? Probably Titanic since it was our first movie but the Notebook is the all time best romantic movie!
