Torn between two names.. Help!

Okay.. So my boyfriend and I were dead set on naming our little princess Abigail. However, we both also LOVE the name Ava. We have a 10 month old son named Eli, and I've always loved how "Abby and Eli" sound together. So, I would just like an outsiders opinion please..

Abigail Kingsley (or Kingslee)

Ava Kingsley (or Kingslee)

Last name is Lamb.. Thanks girls!

  • I like both!  If it helps Ava is so popular right now so she might be one of several.  But I think both names are cute.

  • You could always go to the hospital with both names. We couldn't decide for sure between our top two choices for a girl when we had DD. As soon as she came out I was sure and DH agreed.

  • Personally I like Ava, but they're both beautiful. Deside after you meet her and see what she looks like. You'll know then. Smile

  • I think Abigail sounds better with your last name; and Ava is super popular right now. My daughter has three in her preschool class, and the class is only 10 kids.

  •    They are both beautiful names! However, I agree with Ava being super popular right now. My nephew and his gf just had a daughter that they named Avah. We live in a super small community and she is one of at least two Ava(h)'s that has been born in the last few months.

Abigail is traditional and not too common. It's a beautiful name and, I agree, Eli and Abby sounds super cute together!  A also agree with the previous post: why not take both to the hospital and decide when you see her for the first time. :)

Whichever name you choose will be a great choice! Best of luck to you!

This. I really love the name Ava though as well. Maybe when you see her you will know exactly which one fits her better.

  • Both are extremely common names - #5 and #7 in the country. Either way she's going to run into others with her name.

It just comes down to what you like. I personally think Abigail is nice because it provides more options for nicknames (Abby is cute as a kid, but the full name is maybe more professional - or she could also go by Gail).

I say listen to your gut - both are nice names and I don't think you can really go wrong!

  • Another vote for Abigail Kinsley! While Kingslee seems to be a modern twist, it doesn't seem to fit with Abigail so much.
  • I think Abigail is absolutely adorable. EIther way, both are beautiful. How exciting!

  • Abigail Kingsley. Individually, I like Ava more than Abigail but, paired with big brother Eli, I think Abigail or Abby sounds best.

  • Definitely Abigail Kingsley!

Abigail is so classic, sweet, and has an adorable nickname! If you've always loved it, you won't be disappointed in your choice. Also, Abigail is a name she can grow with.

There are so many Ava's right now (lots in my daughters grade 2 class), and there will be tons in your daughters class too (my friend just named her baby Ava). Abigail sounds really cute with Eli too :)

    Good luck with your choice!
