Allergist recs please

I'm taking M to the doctor on Wednesday and hoping to get a referral for an allergist.  He has been having so many skin reactions lately and I really want to figure out what is causing it.  I'd prefer someone central-ish, like downtown to Arboretum/Domain, but would travel farther for someone really awesome.  Thanks!

    I use Dr. Ray Vaughn at Austin Allergy Associates. The office is in the Prudential building next to the Randalls at 2222 and Mopac. I really like him. I see kids in there all the time, so I know he works with them. If I remember correctly, he has a special needs child of his own, so at least he is a parent.

    DD sees Dr. Thomas Leath.  He is at Scott and White in Round Rock, so pretty far, but we drive from Buda to see him.  He is wonderful with DD, who cries at every doctor appointment, and explains things really well.

    We see Dr. Villacis at NAMC.  He sees both adults and children.  He really takes his time with you, and he's so good and patient with Griffin.

    I LOVE Dr. Maria Gutierrez.  She has the best "customer service" of any doctor of any type that I've ever been to.  When I would go in for allergy shots she would see me in the waiting room and pop out and see how I was doing in between patients.  When she called in an Rx for me she personally called me back and said the pharmacist said it would be a $60 co pay and offered to call in something cheaper.  She's awesome and sees kids too.  I see a lot of kids going there.  She's located at 34th & Lamar next to the post office.

    Just a word of advice - no matter where you go make sure it's convenient for you and your child in case you decide to do allergy shots.  You'll have to pop into the office (any time during office hours without an appt) for shots once a week so you want it to be somewhere convenient.
