We do thank yous for all bday gifts

Now my girls are 6 and almost 5

My oldest started writing her own at 4, my youngest helped and signed her name on her 4th bday.

We've had friend and family at parties

ds just turned 5 and this is the first party we've had. I made him write thank you notes, but they were short. just said thank you and his name. I added some color to those where I know the mom well. He had 3 parties around the same time. We got 1 thank you. I didn't think anything bad of the kids/moms who didn't send thank you's though.

Does he/she help write the notes at all or do you write them? No, I write them all. For the grandparents, I let her "write" on theirs)

Do you have just family, friends or both at the party? We had friends over with kids close to DD's age. Our families live out of town, but some sent gifts, so I mailed them a thank you.

Does he/she help write the notes at all or do you write them? I write a little note inside of the card and have her sign her name or draw a picture.

Do you have just family, friends or both at the party? This year we had just family at the party, but had a play date with her friends at another time due to schedule circumstances.

He just turned 5 in December.

I write the note, he signs it.

It was all friends. Our family is almost all out of state.

No. We say thank you in person at the party, and if the gift giver is not present we call after the party.

10 and 6

Usually it is mostly family and a couple friends.

no. we thanked guests at the party

ds is 2.

when I uploaded his "party" pictures to facebook I took a picture of him holding a sign that said "thank you" and tagged everyone in it that was at the party.

No. We thank people in person at the party. If they weren't there, then we would call or write a thank you and I would have DD1 help me, DD2 is too little for that. DD1 is 5 and DD2 is 21mos. We do a family party and for DD1 we do a separate party for her friends.

I print out a picture from the party, typically the group picture and write the thank you on the back and mail it as a post card. My older DD signed her name last year, will have my 4 year old do that this year as well. Will see how much older DD can write this year. For family, I do a picture of just my DD and do the same as far as a thank you note.
