Spa weekend recs?

Hi there.  I want to plan a spa weekend with some friends.  Any recommendations for a nice place?  Not too far, because I'm not ready to miss any work, so need driveable Friday night or Sat morning. Thanks ladies!

  • Actually have one planned this weekend with dh (thanks for the b-day gift hubs!) at The Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee.  It's a Ritz-Carlton so you get totally pampered.  We went there once for our anniversary and it was amazing! So excited to be going back!

  • Grove Park Inn in Asheville was amazing and the drive wasn't too bad.  I say that, but of course I ended up flying b/c I was 7 mos pregnant and didn't want to sit for that long!

  • The spa at Grove Park Inn is AH-MA-ZING.  I think it is consistently voted one of the top 5 spas in the country.  It is in Asheville, which is an easy drive from Atlanta (like maybe 2.5hrs).  The Grove Park Inn is also really nice but pricey to stay in if money is a concern. Personally I would stay elsewhere in Asheville (tons of cute hotels and B&Bs) and spend a day at the GPI Spa and then maybe a day touring the Biltmore and doing the wine tasting.  Definitely plan to spend an entire day in the spa, even if you only book a few treatments, the facilities are spectacular and you have access the whole day if you have something booked.

  • Asheville is about 3.5 hours from Atlanta I would say. I recommend Reynolds Plantation!
