i'm considering buying one of these to help with DS's night wakings. we've been either using music on our ipods (a little too upbeat for nighttime) or white noise app on our phones, which we can't leave in the nursery with him. any reviews on whether it's worth the money?
Re: Sleep Sheep... worth it?
Just buy a sound machine. There are plenty out there that have a variety of sounds and are under $20. Sleep Sheep is cute and all, but wouldn't spend my money on it.
We have a Conair one that we got as a gift when Ben was born. We used it with him until Molly was born. She sleeps with it now and it works great!
Ditto this. Don't waste your money...
we have the sleep sheep and if you're wanting to use it to help with night wakings, i'd suggest a constant white noise machine (they're about the same price). we use it as her sleep cue to get her to go to sleep, but like ppl said, it turns off after 45 minutes, so it won't be of any use to help keep him asleep during the night.
do you have an old smart phone that you aren't using anymore? or an ipod that you have an external speaker for? then you could avoid buying anything and just use the white noise app (or download a white noise mp3 and put it on repeat on an ipod).
you could also just use an old radio and tune it to a station that doesn't get reception for the same effect.
might be something to try to see if it will work before dropping money on a white noise machine.
you answered my question.
gonna download some 99 cent mp3s and try that out.

oh, good call. i have an ipod nano but DH has a touch, so we can download it on his to use.
I'm shocked at all the hate! ;-)
Both my kids have one and it's my favorite thing on the planet and will sing its praises all day. No it's not going to keep them asleep but mine never had a problem after it shut off. I just needed help with that part.

oh, i LOVE my sleep sheep! I just don't think it's good for what she wants/needs (to keep the baby asleep, not help him fall asleep).
