Teething necklace?

I know that it's a bit early for most of us to talk about teething relief, but what is your opinion on the teething necklaces? I think I'll get one for Alex, since I know several mums who swear by it! I heard that the only important thing to look for is that it's baltic amber. I found some inexpensive and pretty ones on etsy already :-)

    I also have some mom friends who swear by those!  I'll probably get one...short enough though so that LO won't be able to get it to his mouth and possibly break it or choke on the beads.

    Swear by them.  It worked wonders with Mara for teething and we keep one for Peyton to wear with her celiac...it may sound hokey but it works for us.

    That's a good point! I'll have to measure his neck before I order.

    Do you just start putting it on him once he shows signs of teething or should he wear it before already? Does anyone know?

    I just started when she showed signs of teething.  When I use it for other things (like Peyton's celiac), I keep it on her pretty often.

    Thank you! And one more question: Do they just wear them from waking up in the morning until they go to bed? I guess the question is if there is a minimum amount of time per day they should wear it in order for it to help?

    Amber is supposed to have some healing tendencies...wearing a pure amber necklace/bracelet has been thought to help with teething babies or other ailments...I know people who use it for arthritis, we use it for Celiac, etc.

    LO has been teething since he was 7 weeks old.  We got one of the amber necklaces right after and noticed a huge difference.  I can tell when it starts to get worse because he chews with his mouth a lot for no reason.  In fact, a tooth is popping through, we noticed it yesterday. (we actually bought an extra necklace for the in case situation if we lose the first)

     It's scary to know we will have a 3 month old with a tooth!

    Lawson wears one. His is an unpolished baltic amber necklace by Inspired by Finn. He was fussier before we put it on him. Coincidence? I don't know. But I am not about to take it off of him to find out.

    I also want to get a hazelwood necklace for acne that I have and slight reflux for DS. 

    Get the unpolished kind--it is said to work better. Also, lighter colors are said to release more succinic acid but we have a multi-color necklace. You can kind of see it in my siggy.

    I got one for my son when he was about six months old; it worked wonders!  I have two on order for my daughter and me!

    I know someone makes these where each bead is knotted so if the necklace breaks the beads aren't a choking hazard.  I wish I could remember who.  I'll try and find out.

     

    ETA:  Never mind, I guess many are made that way! Stick out tongue

    Ditto pp, we have one for our toddler and you can barely tell when he is teething!

    This is interesting...and here I thought you were talking about the mama-bling type teething necklaces - you know - the kind mom wears that baby can chew on.
