Hey Lauren,
I vaguely recall you mentioning Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. Is that where you're going to deliver? I'm 25 weeks and DH and I are planning a trip to Philly next weekend. Becasue of my previous episode of PTL, i want to have a plan in case things go wrong while I'm there. I want to know where to go. Do you if they have a L&D ward?

Hey Jackie,
Yes, CHOP is where I had all my testing done. Thankfully I will not be delivering there because the ventral sizes have stabilized and our little girl doesn't need to have surgery right after birth (and hopefully never will).
They do have a L+D unit but it is only for parents and babies that need immediate medical intervention, so I don't think it is a place that you could go to if you went into labor while you were in Philly.
However, UPenn is right next to CHOP and is also an amazing hospital and they have a L+D unit. I would make this your back up plan because if something does happen with the baby, CHOP is right there if needed. Here is the link to their site.

My Mom works at CHOP and know some people associated with UPenn. She is on her way up to visit me now so I will pick her brain about this when she gets here and get back to you if she gives me any other info.
Enjoy your trip to Philly!

Hey Lauren,
I'm so happy to hear about your little girl not needing immediate intervention! That's great. Thanks for your info on CHOP. On Saturday night, after I posted my message, I started having contractions 5 mins apart and by the time I got to L&D, they were 3 mins apart. I was hospitalized over the weekend and just got out. I got a negative FFN result whcih is great and got the steroid shots for baby's lungs just in case. I have an Rx for some anticontrx meds which seem to be working but after all that, I think we're going to cancel our trip to Philly. We're bummed but Philly will always be there.
I guess PA and pregnancy don't get along for me. I lost the twins while on a business trip in Pittsburgh.....
Oh well. Can't wait to hear about your L&D experience and read your birth story. You're almost there!
