DD1 is still on Zantac (started at 4 months), it's been a life saver. It took about a week to see real improvement. I started giving DD2 Colic Calm about a week ago for gas and I noticed a difference in about 48 hrs. She doesn't really have signs of reflux, so I know I'm not completely answering your question. Just wanted to share my experience with both products.
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas MSPI Moms Check-In Blog
No this does help! We started my ds on Zantac yesterday and he's been having terrible diareah with it. He also doesnt have all the signs of gerd so I'm not sure if he really needs to be on it or if I should try out colic calm before committing to it for a long term solution

That's interesting b/c I've only heard of Zantac causing constipation. But I'm sure it has different effects on different people. You might mention the diarrhea to his pedi. You don't want LO to end up dehydrated. They can try Prevacid instead to see if that helps and doesn't cause tummy trouble. Hope you find something that works soon!

We had DS on Zantac for approx 2 weeks and so only slight improvement in his reflux symtoms. We eventually started him on Prevacid which works great for him. (Although he is starting to fuss and arch his back during feedings again so I am wondering if he might need his dosage increased.)
Though I used Colic Calm for colic, I've read many mom's stories about how it helped with their child's reflux, and they didn't have to use meds. You can scroll through the interviews on their blog here:
