Uppa Baby Vista Jump Seat vs. City Elite

Hi Ladies-

I have the UppaBaby Vista and LOVE it but am pregnant with my second child.  We got the Vista because of the jump seat but now that I see the City Elite by Baby Jogger around town, I am kind of keen on it.  It obviously has more space for both babies but I don't know if it is worth selling the Vista to get the City Elite.  Anyone have thoughts either way?  The City Elite looks great maybe the only negative is that it seems very bulky.  Would love to hear from people that have 2 seats in it.

Thanks!

Re: Uppa Baby Vista Jump Seat vs. City Elite

  • I thought the City Elite was a single only? Are you thinking City Select? I like it and the City Select as comparable strollers. There are other convertible single to doubles I like as well, but for different reasons. Depends on what you mainly use it for, budget, trunk space, etc.

  • I also have the uppa baby and loved for the first year for my LO.  I rarely used the bassinet or the toddler seat and would just use it for snapping his chicco car seat into it.  I just got a BFP and my LO will be 22 months when this one comes, so I've been considering what to do about the stoller as well.  I've decided against the rumble seat for the uppa baby.  First, he's too young for it.  The rumble seat doesn't recline and doesn't look comfortable.  Also, it only faces in and I know my guy only wants to look out.  But, I've decided to keep the stroller and not sell it because I know that when this baby comes, I'm going to have many times when I'm out with just the baby and I want all of the convenience the uppa baby gave me with a baby in a chicco car seat that just snaps in and goes.  I don't know what car seat you have or if it's even an issue, but I don't like the attachments the baby jogger brands have with the chicco car seats.  I like being able to snap in.  I also am not keen on the way the Phil and Teds, City Select or the Britax B-ready have a seat that is so low to the ground in the back.  There's something I don't like about having a baby in a car seat down there--like I'm going to kick the baby or that I'm storing the baby in the lower storage basket.  I know my older baby wouldn't like being down there and I've heard of toddlers sticking their hands out on the wheels.  So, I've decided to keep the uppa baby for when I'm out with one baby and get the chicco double for when I'm out with both.  I like that the chicco car seat snaps into either seat and my toddler can be out in front looking around, or reclined fully in the back taking a nap.  I've got while to think about it though.

  • The older model of the elite had ajump seat. They then made the elite double, which is now being discontinuted for the city mini gt double (out later this spring). I don't think a jump seat is good for a child who may still nap in the stroller.
