MH and I have not had a date night since LO was born. In fact other than going to work I've only been away from G 3 times and they were all before Christmas. I'm just starting to feel really burnt out... or maybe I'm just hormonal since I'm getting my period. LO has been a giant fussy butt all day... Teething? The reflux monster? 4MW? I'm tired. I had a meltdown and just cried for a while today because I feel like I need a break. Both of our families are about an hour and a half away, and they have visited a few times but haven't offered to watch LO (plus when they do visit, we want to see them too since we don't see them often). Don't get me wrong please -- we're not expecting anyone to do things for us, but I'm just feeling like it would be nice to get away. Gah.... I should probably just go to bed early tonight...
Anyone else having issues finding someone to help watch LO from time to time?
Re: I need a break... anyone else not had a date night?
Agreed! It sounds like you need some alone time.
Also, if you want some time with H try a date at home. Get some good take out, watch a funny movie and then make out on the couch after LO falls asleep.
We have a 5 year old as well so the last time we had a date night was before we moved to the states in 2010.
I need a night out too
Right there with ya. We haven't had a date night but we have lunch together at least once a week. Can you do that with your DH?
I felt overwhelmed this weekend too. Not sure if it's the same reasons you posted as well. Hang in there mama!

I hear ya. We've gone out a couple of times without Lily and left her with my parents/DH's mom/friends, but not for a date night. Except for one time, it was all work related (both of us had an interview at the same time one day, both went to a workshop, etc.). I'm getting to the stage where I'd like a date night (friends of ours gave us a gift certificate for the movies, including popcorn and drink, and offered to babysit - just waiting for a movie we both want to see!), but we often have little mini-dates at home and watch a movie together. The only problem with that is that Lily won't go to sleep until 9 or later, so the movie gets interrupted over and over again when we have to re-settle her and ends up going very late.
But I just remind myself that this is temporary and to enjoy the time with her while she's so little. I agree with others, though, that it sounds like you could use some time away from LO, with or without your husband.

Ok this made me feel really bad... I shouldn't complain, at least hubby is home with me most of the time. I think it's tough that we don't have help around, but I don't think I could do what you're doing! Hopefully we can ask someone to watch LO soon...
Sorry, I wasn't trying to make you feel bad! Just give your hubby an extra hug & kiss today lol because date night or not your lucky :] but hopefully you do get that date night soon !
