I am just curious as to where everyones baby is sleeping.
LO is 4 weeks old. He was sleeping really well in his bassinet but it seems like he doesn't want to sleep that long in there anymore. He won't sleep longer than maybe 30 minutes in his actual crib. I think he would love to sleep on our chest or his swing all of the time, but I feel weird having him sleep in his swing. At the same time, I wonder if I am crazy for not letting him sleep there.
LO is still waking and eating every 2 hours.
Where does your baby sleep?
Re: Where does your baby sleep?
My LO sleeps in her bassinet. During the day she doesn't seem to sleep for very long in there but at night she goes 4-6 hours at a time.
I'm trying to not let LO sleep in her swing or bouncy seat. I don't want her to get used to the movement from the swing. I want her to get used to sleeping in her bed.
During the day K sleeps in our arms or if we're lucky her swing. At night she sleeps in her bassinet next to our bed and then in bed with us when she wakes up for her feeding. If I'm lucky she'll fall back asleep and I can put her back in the bassinet, if I'm not she stays with me.
K's supposed to eat every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night so she can get back up to her birth weight, however, I'm not doing that today because I need a break. Today I'm feeding her on demand because I just can't do the 2 hour thing. I'm worn out and feel like all I do is nurse her.
This was a good wake up call for me to appreciate my "difficult" nights. Thanks for the perspective.
Oh, and my little one is sleeping in her crib at night that is very close to our bedroom. During the day she sleeps in her bassinet, pnp, swing or in my arms.
Henry generally sleeps wherever during the day - in the Beco, bouncy chair, in our arms, etc. At night he goes into the PnP which is literally flush with our bed (it started off on the other side of the room but he's a sleep crier and I kept getting up...). Sometimes at night after a feeding he doesn't settle and ends up in bed with us. I try to transfer him back to the PnP but sometimes I fall asleep and we don't wake until the next feeding.
He eats every three hours during the day (his natural demand schedule), but stretches 5-6 hours at night.
Basically, if he will sleep, I will put him there!
I am sorry. I hope they get to come home soon.
I use to move the bassinet into the living room and Cole would take his naps in it. I think I am going to start doing this again to see if this helps. He is actually napping in there now.
He is asking to eat every 2 hours, we are not pushing it. He doesn't have any weight problems. In the first two weeks, he was gaining 2 ounces a day! I am pumping and giving him a bottle. He was eating about 2.25 ounces per feeding and then starting yesterday he wanted more. Even with the increase in food, he is still asking to eat about every 2 hours. He is growing like a weed!
I like having him in our room except that I don't think he will fit in his bassinet comfortably much longer. Eventually, he is going to have to start sleeping in his crib but as of now he doesn't want a whole lot to do with it.
He is sleeping anywhere we can get him to. Last 2 nights it has been the swing...before that it was the RnP, bassinet or PnP. At this point he really isn't getting habits yet so we aren't too worried. The goal is to get him in the crib around 3 months...for now it is all about survival and sleep (he wakes to eat every 2 hrs).
Same and Same.
We had a bassinet in our room but for some reason my 4 week old HATES it. I was usually ending up on the couch next to the pack n play or the snugabunny swing so we finally moved him to his big boy crib last night.

She started out sleeping in her newborn napper of the pack n play but then we moved her to her swing. We don't turn it on and actually the seat part comes off so at night we put her in her room in the seat. She was in our room for a week but I just couldn't take it. Every little noise made me turn to look at her. Now that I'm used to her noises from her naps during the day and I have the monitor turned down pretty low (I can actually still hear her without it) I can sleep much better. She sleeps from her late night feeding (10:30pm) until about 3:30am and then after that feeding until about 7:30am and if we are lucky she'll go back to sleep again for another hour or two.
Our plan is transition her to her pack n play when she's too big to sleep in the swing or when we just feel it's time and then from there to her crib.
