question about doctor experience after M/C

More questions about doctors!! I'm just full of them today!

Soo...I just got a new job and am moving, relocating to Lancaster County. I was reading previous boards that recommended Drs. May Grant, but I have a specific question regarding care there and if anyone had personal experience with this.

I had a miscarriage 4 and half months ago at 11w2d and want to start trying again in the next 3 months. Does anyone have experience with these doctors with trying to conceive/being pregnant after a miscarriage? I'm assuming that since perinatal loss happens so frequently that they are sensitive to that, but I want to see a doctor/mw who will take the time to answer my paranoid questions and provide me with resources should I need them, and not downplay my feelings as if it was "nothing." I do logically understand that doctors/midwives can't care 100% about every patient and get emotionally involved, but I don't want my fears and worries treated as if they were nothing, given my history.

 Thanks so much!

  • I don't have answers to your questions but I wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your thoughts. My husband and I are thinking of TTC again and we are trying to decide if we will stick with our original doctor or try someone else. I definitely want someone who will monitor my next pregnancy closely!

    Good luck!

  • It is such a tough call--I think you almost have to go meet with doctors and run your feelings past them. I had a very early m/c--so it was different because they are so much more common...I think in your case--a doctor will be much more apt to doing more--monitoring and more u/s--but I do know that a lot of doctors also have a hard time doing this because of insurance restrictions---some need to see 3 m/c in order to order more monitoring.
  • I don't necessarily want to change doctors. We're moving, so it's more of a necessity than a desire. I actually really like doctors we had. I don't think they didn't do a good enough job (well, the whole follow up on perinatal bereavement could've been better)

I don't necessarily want more monitoring per say. The m/c was going to happen regardless, I just want someone who will be sensitive and firm, but not dismissive of my paranoia. Either way, I appreciate your input. Thanks!
