  • That is beautiful! How hard was that to make? I can't find any dust ruffles I like for a boy so I thought about making one but I'm kinda hesitant... anyways if you happen to have a handy pattern that you may want to point out to a frazzled lady, please do :)

  • Great job, that looks awesome!  I don't think I have the talent to do something like that.

This is where I got the 'idea'...I modified it a bit because I didn't want it to ruffle and the length was different.  Basically I measured our crib and added 1 inch to the top and bottom of what I cut for hem allowances...The hardest part was getting my pregnancy brain and dyslexia to work together when I sewed it. I had to totally rip apart one seam because I sewed it on backwards LOL! Just remember to measure two or three times before you cut because any seam can be undone.

Oh, I also used her site for the bumper that I will be doing too!

  • Thanks ladies! It wasn't easy but it wasn't that hard. If you have the time and can calm your nerves I promise anyone can do this. :)

  • Looks great. Just curious since I've thought bout making my own, what about when you raise or lower the crib mattress? I've always wondered how you would adjust it or if when the mattress is raised it just doesn't touch the floor.

The crib height is currently at it highest position..I am not sure what I will do once we lower it but I will probably just undo the hem and resew it so it doesn't bunch up unless it looks nice..IDK..cross that bridge later :)

I made one similar to yours last time and when I lowered it I just bunched it up under the mattress some to shorten it and you couldn't tell.  I later heard someone say to pin it up and that would have been easier.  This time I am making an adjustable crib skirt that a friend told me about.  I made one for someone else and tried it out, really cool idea.  Here's where I looked for tips but I changed mine up some.  I need to get the pictures off of my camera of the one I made.  It basically just ties to the grid in the crib (under mattress) so that you can adjust the ties as needed.  Here is the one the girl on the blog below made:

Hers is very light and see through though, at least in that picture.  I lined mine and liked how it was a little thicker.  It helped since I was using a lighter weight fabric.

Yours looks awesome!  I love the fabric you picked out and the pink and grey is super cute together.  Good job!  I know what you mean, I get so darn proud of myself when I make something.  :)  Such a great feeling.
