This way seems to keep LO satisfied longer, but I have a question. I seem to get really engorged on the side I don't feed her on. Do you pump the other side?will my body eventually even out to this kind of schedule?
Good question! I am going through the same thing! I pump the other side he doesn't feed on in the morning. Don't know if this is okay, I feel like I am screwing with my supply.
Since I know I'm going back to work and need a freezer stash, I pump once both breasts are "uncomfortably large" ... Meaning it causes me pain if I don't pump right away. I do that after nursing, and still manage to get 3-4oz on each side. I do that about twice a day now.
I have only ever fed on one side and my supply has definitely evened out. I kind of wish I'd pumped the other side so I could create a freezer stash, but it's nice not to be uncomfortable
The only time I'm pretty engorged is in the mornings after her longer stretches, and even that isn't painful.
in the morning I pump the otherside until what I guess is about half the milk is out of it. If I drain it completely then I don't have enough to satiate DS when he's ready to feed again. So I will pump once a day but the other feedings we just stay as is.
