My husband and I just found out yesterday that we are pregnant! We plan on having his parents over next week to tell them. Any ideas for fun ways to tell them??? I can't wait to see the look on their faces!!! Thanks ladies!
My H and I got back from a vacation the day I got my BFP. I immediately called my Sister (this was around 9PM) and we both drove to my parents house. We woke my Mom up and I just held up the positive test. She was so confused but once it sank in she was so excited!
For the in-laws, we were heading over the next day anyways to celebrate my MIL's bday. I wrapped a duck onesie and bib that said "I love my Grandma." She read the bib, looked confused, then started shrieking and crying and kept asking us if we were serious. Both my Dad and FIL were kind of stunned but really happy.
That being said, we didn't tell anyone else until much later on. The only reason we told our immediate families right away is they were a fantastic support net when we had a m/c a couple years earlier.
Since DH and I didn't have an ultrasound picture yet, we took a picture with a positive pregnancy test and then put it in a frame and wrapped it with a card that said grandma and grandpa!
For my family we told them a few weeks after we found out. We went over there and our dogs each had a baby balloon tied to their collar and one had a shirt saying "I'm going to be a big sister" (the joke in our family is that the many dogs in our family are their grandchildren so it was fitting). For DH's family we waited until 13 weeks because we wanted to make sure there were no problems before telling. We had them over for lunch and our nephew walked in with a sign that said "I'm going to be a cousin" with the latest ultrasound picture attached.

We told them over Christmas. I bought some onesies and painted "I (heart) (grandparents)" on them and gave them to his folks, my mom, and my pop and step-mom. They loved them.
*Lurker* We just called everyone immediately and I regret it a little now though LoL
When My cousin came back from black fridays sales he showed us what he got. He got a bunch of xbox games and showed me what he got. I looked at them all and flipped them over to view what the backs said. Just said the info in the games.
Later on, my sister comes over too and he shows the games to her as well, my cousin is very weird on how well he knows what people will do, and so he made sure to tell my sister what his favorite is and she opened it up to look at the shiny cd (my sis is 27 and she has a need to look at all things shiny and to inspect everything) and something flew out. I picked it up and instantly knew it was a sonogram so I flipped it around so noone saw what it was, (because my cousins gf is a bit of a whore so I figured she got knocked up again and maybe my cous didn't know yet) so I tried to grab the game and put it back and my sister grabs it from my hand and looks around all awkwardly. Turns out my cousin knew she'd open it and that was their official announcement. It was weird how he knew she'd do that though. I liked it but it would've been better for a different couple (you never know with that gf and their weird relationship)

We each called our parents the day we found out. I wish we had waited, because although we said to keep is a secret they told everyone before we had the chance to fully absorb the news. I guess I'll know better next time.

We got a t-shirt for my MIL that said "I'm Going to be a Grandma." She LOVED it! I think that we got it from cafepress.com and it arrived really, really quickly!
For my parents, we let my sis and BIL in on the news early, so we could put my niece in a tshirt that said "I'm going to be a BIG cousin!" Then she came out into the living room after Thanksgiving dinner wearing it - my parents were definitely surprised and excited!
For DH's parents, we ordered custom M&Ms. Some said "Baby Lastname" and some said "June 2012." We also mixed in some regular ones with nothing on the back, and then swapped out our custom mix with the regular M&Ms in the candy dish at his parents' house. Then it was just a question of how long would it take someone to notice. DH's niece was eating M&M's within the hour, and **finally** noticed - it was super-cute once everyone figured it out, and our niece had a blast making sure DH's brothers/SILs ate some M&Ms and discovered the news as they came over later that afternoon.
We bought tshirts for both grandma's, one says "don't I look too young to be a grandmother" because MIL is obsessed with looking younger and one said something about being a nana, since that's what my mom wants to be called, they cried
DH told my in-laws when I wasn't there and honestly I'm glad... MIL's reaction was, "I really think Asher should be any only child." Seriously, MIL??? Seriously!? Really glad I wasn't there!
OMG, that sounds like the "Well, if that's what you wanted." response that I got from my in laws! How nice...booooo

We had photo calendars already made and then found out that I was pregnant. So we put little flower post it notes on August around the EDD and said "(my name)'s due date" "Baby B's Birthday" on it. Both sides really loved it. The wild thing was we ordered the calendars before I knew I was pregnant and when they came in the mail I said to my husband "Wouldn't it be great if we could use these to tell our parents that we're having a baby?" And then it actually happened.

My husband and I found out before Halloween that we are pregnant with our first baby but we decided to wait until Christmas to surprise our families, not that we thought anything bad was going to happen, we just thought it would make for a nice Christmas surprise. We've been married 10 years and I think everybody had pretty much given up hope that we would ever have a baby. We bought picture frames for my parents, my in-laws (who live in another state), and our nieces and put copies of our 10-week ultrasound picture in the frames. On our parent's frames we had engraved, "Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad! Meet your new grandchild! Expected due date: 6/25/2012." My parents and nieces opened their frames and were so excited. My husband then called his parents and listened to them open their frame. Everybody loved them!
We made a photo book of pictures of DH and I from engagement on. It included trips, friends, family and our fur babies. The last page was a full size picture of he and I holding a sign that said "And baby makes 3." Showed this to our parents on Thanksgiving.
We then used the same photo as our Christmas card.
We were over at my parents' house and my mom offered me a glass of wine like she always does. DH says, "Sorry, grandma, she can't have any wine". My dad got it right away but my mom took a few seconds before the screaming and the jumping up and down started.
My parents are 4500 miles away, so I had to tell them by phone. I actually told my 16-year-old brother first, and when he announced to my dad "I'm going to be an uncle" my dad didn't believe it! There was about five minutes of me saying "I'm serious" and him saying "yeah right", when he finally said "wait, are you serious?". My mum was even better: she happened to be out at the time, and my dad told her to call me. I was taking a nap so I must have sounded groggy, because she asked me if I was drunk. I said "nah, drinking's bad for the baby". She dropped the phone!
Everyone I told, I did it really nonchalantly, I think that can be fun. Someone was asking me if I'd be coming back to England any time soon, and I said "no, I'm waiting on a travel permit, and by the time that arrives I'll be too pregnant to fly". Someone else texted me saying they were drinking gin (my favourite drink) and I should come join them; I said "thanks, but babies and gin don't really mix".
I've also heard of people inviting family over for a meal and dropping cues with the food, like baking dinner rolls (buns) in the oven.
