Where do you live? We're in Carlisle. Can't get my bio to change from TX! I grew up in State College but have also lived in NYC and Austin, TX for a few years. We moved back to PA when we had our son.
How many kids? William is 2 - born November 2009. Baby #2 due in September
What do you/DH do? I'm a photographer; DH is in law school full time.
Should we plan a get together sometime? What would people want to do? Wait for nice weather and meet at a park, maybe?

Do you prefer Central Pa to TX or NYC? Just curious, we're always toying around w/relocation although it would depend on jobs.
I'm in Carlisle too! We live about 10 seconds from the Dairy Queen.

How many kids? Just one, DD is 7 months old this weekend! (time files, seeing that in black and white is crazy)
What do you/DH do? I stay at home during the day/serve a couple of nights a week/go to school. I'm a business major

Where do you live? Harrisburg
How many kids? 2 boys---Chase is 5 and Parker is almost 20 months
What do you/DH do? I am an elementary school librarian (right now--my school district is cutting librarians next year, so I will be going back to the classroom). DH is a high school math teacher.
Should we plan a get together sometime? YES! I'd love to get together at a Park when it gets nice out.
How many kids? - 2 - Jacob is 19 months & Allyson is 4 days old.
What do you/DH do? - I'm a SAHM (although a kindergarten teacher prior to moving here, and would love to get back in the classroom ASAP). DH is a Lutheran pastor (which is what prompted our move here/my resignation from my job).
Should we plan a get together sometime? - I'd be game. DS loooooves playing w/ other kids!

This board is incredibly slow but Im a hypocrite because Im not on it enough to liven it up myself anyway! Maybe I can make that my 2012 resolution--participate on thebump more!

How many kids? DD is just over 2 (November 2009) and Im currently almost 6 weeks pregnant with #2 but not telling many people IRL yet
What do you/DH do? My job doesnt fit into an easy category but mostly Im a community/urban planner and DH is a computer geek (he develops software applications)
Should we plan a get together sometime? Definitely, especially if its pretty close by. Im fairly new to the area so Id love to meet new people.
haha Yes, this board is so slow. I only recently moved to PA, so I still hop over on the Baltimore board when I am able because that one is always hopping! Hopefully we can jump start this one!!!

If we didn't have family here in PA, we would have stayed in Austin forever. It is a fabulous city. It's completely unlike the rest of TX. Very green, lots of parks, GREAT restaurants, music and art scenes... ugh. We just loved it. I miss it so much. It's definitely hot in the summers (we're talking... it was over 100 for SEVENTY days in a row the summer I was pregnany. And not just 100, but 105, 107. It's crazy!) but the rest of the year is amazing. DS was born in November, and it was 75 degrees and sunny!
NYC is ridiculously expensive. If you're multimillionaires, go for it. I cannot even begin to imagine raising children there. Housing is tiny and through the roof expensive. Good schools... you don't even want to know. We lived there when we were right out of college. It was fun, of course, but unrealistic. We spent everything we earned. Our 4th floor walk up, 600 sq foot apartment (not even in a great location... pretty far up on the Upper East Side) was more than our mortgage for our 3 bed, 3 bath house with a yard in Austin.

Should we plan a get together sometime? YES! I've met up recently with a few bumpies and it's been great meeting other moms.

How many kids: DS will be 3.5 next month. We're currently TTC #2.
What do you do: I work for a statewide health care association as a writer and web content developer/maintainer.

Hi there! I'm new to this board. I used to occasionally post on The Central PA Nesties back in the day. I recognize some of you!
We live in York and we just had our 1st baby, a baby boy we named Luke. It was a long, difficult road to parenthood (see siggy). I was on bedrest for the last 14 weeks of my pg for low amniotic fluid. DS ended being born at 35 weeks because of my pre-eclampsia.
DH is a mechanical engineer but is now more on the sales end of things. I'm a laid off nurse! I was laid off several months ago due to downsizing at my work while I was on bedrest for pg complications, so I'm in the process of looking for a new job. I hope to do something part-time.
Yes, a get-together would be great. I may hold off coming to one for a bit, as DS was born a bit pre-term. I'm hesistant to expose LO to potential illness for little while.
