2nd Trimester

Numb feeling in uterus?

Im not worried, but I cant figure this one out. Its a weird feeling- like a numbness mixed with a stretching feeling right at my belly button? (Im 24 wks so its not the top of my uterus) It only lasts for a few seconds, but it happens quite a bit.

Is this a Braxtion Hick's? Or just stretching? Or maybe the baby is kicking a nerve? (I have an AP so I dont always feel his kicks)

Google is worthless for my question, so TIA

Re: Numb feeling in uterus?

  • For me BH's started around 24-26 weeks both times, and they seemed to be more of a tightened muscle feeling as opposed to a stretching sensation.  I also had an AP last time.  But I'm sure the feeling varies from person to person.  As long as it not's painful and no spotting/bleeding associated, I'd say any of your guesses are a possibility.  HTH!

  • I'm not sure what would be making things feel numb. When I have Braxton Hicks everything gets really tight and slightly uncomfortable. I never feel any pain, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it is a numb feeling. My guess would be that it is some sort of pinched nerve or something!

  • I have had little bursts of tingly numbness and someone said it is the baby kicking a nerve.
