Any other LOs live outside?

My ds cries and has been throwing fits when we don't let him go out to the back yard or the front yard. Sometimes even after being outside for an hour at the park down the street , it s nothing but whining when we bring him inside! He seems to think he lives outside. Anyone else ? Or is my kid Bigfoot :-O how do u handle this if so ?

Yes, we have to lock the doors because DD can open our sliding doors! We just bring her inside and let her throw her tantrum and ignore her. We always try to distract first with milk, cheese stick or graham cracker.

My kid would if he could! It's 9 degrees outside so we do not go anywhere!

Yeah same here. I think part of our issue is the 5 days a week she goes to daycare so on the weekends she gets all antsy to go somewhere, anywhere to do something different. It's hard at this age their attention spans are soo short and they want to get out and explore but seriously it's freezing here so I we cant spend all day outside.

I've found it's helped a little lately having some structured activities that are different that what we normally do inside helps with the antsiness. So for example she starts getting squirelly so we do finger painting, or playdough or something else arts and crafty. I picked up a book at Christmas called The Toddler Busy Book that has helped a bit giving me simple ideas to keep her entertained.
