    My SIL did this with her daughter's name (true story). Dad's name is Ranolfo and her name is Christine...and they came up with (drum roll.....)

    Rayine (Ray-eeen, it's awful to say, so nasaly and the syllable-blend is atrocious). SIL didn't like Rain or Raine (would've been so much better) and she wanted a 'y' in her daughter's name to make it look more "feminine". Baby's MN is Victoria and b/c another alternative could have been "Reyna", SIL veto'd this b/c "she might get made fun of for 'queen victoria'. Even though niece is 19 months, people are already making fun of her ridiculous name by calling her Raybean and Raybeanie...pretty sure I would've chosen Queen Victoria over that.

    Let's not forget the runner up name...Xiona. ex-I-AH-na. gag.
