I am not 100% happy with my ob or the associated hospital, so thinking of switching to a new ob and new hospital. I am 29 weeks along. Is it too late to switch?
It actually surprises me how many people stay with crappy providers because they don't want to deal with switching. This is sort of a big deal people and settling should never be an option.
I switched at 29 weeks. I would have had an appt. with the new OB in my 28th week, but she was booked. Don't hesitate to change if you're not happy with who you're seeing. I switched because I changed insurance companies to my partner's work insurance and it gave me the opportunity to go to an OB with a great bunch of practice partners and deliver at a hospital with a brand new L&D unit with a BIG full NICU rather than the older, tiny unit with no NICU. Just do it if thats what makes you comfortable.

Baby Girl Harper born via emergency C-section 3/22/12!
Honestly, I didn't even have a doctor until I was 19 weeks pregnant!! Took me that long to find someone willing to let me VBAC. If there were any red flags, I would not hesitate to change either!
Take it from someone that learned the hard way. I didn't change with my first pregnancy. My gut was right - the doctor was a complete prick that treated me awful, gave me no respect or dignity and coerced me into an unnecessary csection for his own convenience. I was nothing more than a cadaver for him to slice and cut into as far as he was concerned. I'll have to live with that first traumatic birth experience the rest of my life, but at least I learned my lesson and this time WILL be different!
Follow your gut. If i had a doc that was trying to do things i disaggreed with i would switch at 40 weeks. The doc you see is your choice no matter how far along you may be.

I switched at around 32 weeks (I moved to a different state). I agree with PP that you should go with your gut, but just warning:
It took me a ton of phone calls/ research to find a doctor..especially with my insurance situation (yours obviously could be way different). I wasn't prepared how stressful finding a new doc would be! I also had a couple of offices tell me 1. The practice was "full" for deliveries in the month I was due so couldn't take on any new patients 2. Wouldn't take me since I was so far along. Then when I finally did find a doctor that could schedule me in a decent amount of time and took my insurance, I didn't like him so basically had to start the process all over again.
I think that if you really want to switch you should but just a heads up that's what I went through! GL:)
