My dr is doing a blood test to see if I'm pregnant, HPT all have been negative but I'm experiencing many symptoms which I'm now learning can be the same as symptoms of ovarian cysts. The doctor will do a pelvic ultrasound but now until February 23rd.
My hubby and I werent trying and I am on the pill which is why a pregnancy is somewhat unlikely but if you're on the pill isn't it true that you don't ovulate and hence how would I get a cyst if they only form during ovulation?
Im going crazy not knowing what's going on with my body particularly the very obvious bloating of my typically flat tummy... On top o the cramping and pressure.
This whole process is so frustrating ... One second excited about the possibility of being pregnant and then being trumped by the knowledge that something could be wrong with me. Ugh.
Re: Ovarian Cysts ... or Pregnant? VENT
If the HPTs are negative then you're not pregnant. That's the whole point of them. You're probably just getting your period.
ETA: You can still get ovarian cysts while you're on BCP. I had numerous MRIs done on my back and hips that showed cysts on my ovaries, and at that time I had been on the pill for years.

I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (in remission now) and yeah..taking the pill is one way to decrease your likelyhood of getting cysts. It doesn't mean you can't get them, just that it can at least control in cases of PCOS. I don't know about "normal" people.
I hope you get good news, or at least an answer soon! I'm sure the back and forth is driving you crazy.
