Can I vote my FIL? He's so much more annoying than my MIL - she doesn't talk to me. Ever. He is extremely judgmental and condescending.

Agreed. My MIL drives me nuts because she has a super high pitched voice and she doesn't seem excited about the baby. And my mom drives me nuts because she keeps telling me to wait to buy things because people will get them for us but also tells me people won't buy anything off my registry and that it's a waste of my time to have one. And so I don't know how people are going to buy me what I need if my showers are all after the baby is born and they aren't buying things off the registry. She makes me feel bad for wanting to be prepared.

This! I love my mom, but she is overly sensitive and tends to throw a tantrum if she doesn't get her way. MIL has never annoyed me, actually.

Wow, I guess I'm in the minority, but my MIL is a saint to tolerate (she's very respectful of our relationship and very nice to me!) compared to my mom (who is ciritical and overbearing). Huh.
