Does your LO have a fussy time?

Every night from 9-12 dd becomes super fussy, o ly wants to be held and rocked to sleep. Last night I gave an extra feeding which helped a little, but she was still cranky. I feel bad for our neighbors, I could hear them moving around. And now at 4 I'm nursing and she was fussing and I heard them get up.

Re: Does your LO have a fussy time?

  • 7pm to 9pm She tends to "fight" with her bottle anyway but the evening feeding is basically a battle uphill in the snow with rollerskates on.

After she does settle down and eat, the only way she will fall asleep is in my arms.

I know it isn't colic. Colic they are unsoothable.

Try changing the routine. Give her a bath, do tummy time, walk around the house with her. All these things tend to change the mindframe a little bit and break the fuss cycle for us.

  • For some reason mine has a fussy time in the morning (9-12ish) and this is also when he cluster feeds.  He doesn't have his days and nights mixed up so I don't know why he's like this in the morning and not at night.

  • I just watched this video

Usually my LO has a fussy period from 10 to 1am. But i'm going to try to recognize the sounds she is making to avoid a fussy time tonight.

    Good Luck.

  • She usually has a bit of fussiness around 7-9pm.

  • DD is incredibly fussy starting at 5 or 6 (6:00 on the dot at the very latest) and it lasts until 10/11 PM. She basically wants to use my boob as a paci, but gets pissed when milk actually comes out (and pretty much refuses all actual pacifiers that we've tried). It's quite the predicament. lol
  • I call it the "witching hour" - usually 6p-9pm ish.

  • Yup. From about 4-6 she is a little fussy. At night she is all about eating and then sleeping.

  • I WISH she was fussy during the day or evening, instead it's from 3am-5/6am. I've been in tears the last several nights because no matter what I do she won't calm down and go to sleep. I'm going to talk to her ped tomorrow about it because I'm going crazy and this can't continue.

  • Not every night, but most nights our LO is fussy from 8-11. He has reflux and I was just thinking it was due to that, but maybe it's just a baby thing after all. He's sleeping through this right now so hopefully it's not just delayed tonight!
