Pregnant after IF

I need hope! Please!

So once again ladies I am coming over from the Trouble TTC board and I need hope from you, please. I will be reaching my 2 year TTC mark in May but I am hoping to celebrate that annivesary with a baby bump. I am just to the point I can't take IF anymore.

So a short a history I have had 3 laps to clean out endo. The first 2 laps I had stage 4 endo and the last by the power of prayer I was only stage 1 and it was not on my lady parts. I have been TTC since may 2010. I have had 3 failed IUI's and one was a c/p. I did have ovulation issues at first but it looks like clomid helped that and now I am normal again or at least we think I am. I am having regular normal periods and I am ovulating without clomid. My hormones are normal.

So basically my first questions is has anyone on this board gotten pregnant after a lap surgery? If so, how long did it take? and was it natural or assisted? My last lap surgery was on dec. 21st 2011 and I am on my second cycle since then. Is it to early after my lap to really worry? My doc told me to try on our own for a while but if I am not pregnant by April I am thinking about getting a second opinion. My doc does not want to do an IUI again because he said I do not need one but I do not know if I agree because the trigger shot really helps with timing.

I am just sick and tired of being stressed and worried about TTC. I even took a break before my surgery but it did not help the stress much I still thought about TTC. How could I not think about it?

Re: I need hope! Please!

  • I didn't have the same issues, but I just wanted to say that if you are concerned about timing, you can still do a medicated cycle with a trigger and TI and not have to do the actual IUI part. I know it's so hard to be patient, but since it's only been 2 cycles since they gave you a "clean slate" from the endo, I would keep trying for a while. There is no harm in getting another opinion though. GL to you!

  • This is probably not the stuff you would like to hear, but sometimes us endo girls have trouble getting ku the old fashioned way or with iui. I skipped right on to ivf because I was thinking that my endo was getting in the way of fertilization despite being having it cleared out with a lap. This can be due to residual inflammation that is always present due to the endo.

In any case, you have had a c/p which is more than I ever had prior to ivf, so maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who can get a bfp without intervention. Good luck!

  • I had done 5 IUIs with no success...

I had a lap in october and had endo removed as well as a lot of adhesions.  I got pregnant unassisted on my 2nd cycle post-lap.

For me, I really believe it was the lap that made me able to conceive.  I had all the scarring from a c-section 4 years ago.

    Good luck.

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~
