I love the name Harris (Harrison) but we were too scared of the nn Harry. I voted for Hudson. Since he is not a Jr, why can't you use Walter as the mn?

Thank you for your input. Harry isn't my favorite nickname, either, but I don't downright hate it.
The naming tradition in DH's family is that all first sons are named Walter with a middle name of the parents' choosing. Our son will be the 9th in a row.
I've tried to convince DH to go with Walter as the middle name, and he's just not having it. It's very important to him and he doesn't want to break the tradition. We thought a good compromise was to name him Walter but give him an important name from my family as a middle name.

it was a running joke in my house when we were growing up. I think they needed to knock down the walls to get him out after he passed on. You don't forget things like that.. haha
If I called my brother right now and said, "who is Walter Hudson", he would answer in less than 10 seconds.

Re: Boy name clicky
I agree, I also love DH's name... but there are already 3 Walt/ Wally/ Walters and it gets very confusing!
Bummer, I like Walter better too. Harrison and Hudson sound too much like surnames. I think you could do better.

I am open to suggestions so please, share anything you think might be better.
FWIW, they are both family related names.
Thank you for your input.

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at Walter Hudson. He was the 4th fattest man alive!!!

Please do not name your son that.
And thus why I like to ask! Thanks for making the decision an easy one!
(And PS, unless you googled... you must have an excellent memory or a unique knowledge of useless trivia, that's so funny! lol)

I voted for Walter Harrison, but I'm another vote for preferring Walter as the fn.
I do see how it would be endlessly confusing in your case though.
