Alina or Alaina? Or neither??

Which do you like better? Alina is pronounced Uh-LEE-nuh, and Alaina is Uh-LAY-nuh.

Is Alaina a bit "boring"? Would people have trouble figuring out how to pronounce Alina? I think Alina is of Greek/Russian/Ukrainian origin, and Alaina is French or American.

I kind of like Francesca as a middle name

I like names that are a little bit exotic, yet American (both hubs and I are caucasian).

Thoughts and suggestions??

I like Lina sans the A. I also like Elaina. OK, I can't spell. Lena is the spelling.

I like Alina, but definitely think of it as Eastern European. One of my closest friends' moms is named this. She is Polish. And I know a few Cuban people who used this name as a nod to Soviet friends on the island in the 60s and 70s.

I like Alaina. Alina would be harder to pronounce correctly IMO (I keep saying it in my head as "a-line-uh").

I like both, and don't think that Alina is that difficult to pronounce. As with any other name, one correction should be all it takes if someone mispronounces. I think I slightly prefer Alina.
