Need ideas for pre or post dinner...

I don't even think that I've shared that DH has been living out of town Mon-Fri since July... needless to say, with a toddler, working PT, pregnant (still not sure how that happened given the M-F thing), there have been almost ZERO dates in many, many, many months. This Saturday we are going out to celebrate V-day. We have a fabulous dinner at Wink planned and I am beyond excited. Reservations are at 7. My cousin is babysitting, so it is free... and we would really like to take advantage of that!! We don't want to just go to dinner, and bam, we are done. We thought about going to a movie, but a 5 o'clock movie will get us to dinner too late and I'm not sure that we can stay up late enough for a movie that starts after 9.

I'm looking for ideas on either end of the date (i.e., something fun we could do before hand... however, we will be moderately dressed up; or afterwards). Usually we would go to a wine bar.... but, well, that won't be much fun for me.

Any ideas? I was thinking a nice dessert restaurant, but I don't know of any... suggestions? Other ideas?

TIA!

Re: Need ideas for pre or post dinner...

  • Going somewhere else for dessert sounds like a good idea. It could be another fancy restaurant or maybe just Amy's.

  • DH and I have started going to Book People on date night and then walking somewhere for dinner.  Let me tell you, it is blissful to browse in a bookstore sans toddler.  Plus, Book People is just fun!

Other fun ideas would be strolling up South Congress, AMOA, Amy's...
