Last year she had just started crawling and was in EVERYTHING, so we just put the ornament up high enough that she couldn't reach them and it worked well:)
We'll probably tell her no and redirect her a million times. It does work after a while--she now leaves my moms decorations on the coffee table alone. She just looks and says "touch" and we say "no touch".
last year at 11mo, ds had no interest in the tree. this year when ever we see one he wants to touch it and feel all the ornaments. no clue how i'm going to keep him out of it.
We always buy a real tree that is only about 6' tall and then we put it on a round coffee table. It kept my niece out of it for the first 2 Christmases.. I hope it will work for this year too

That's a good idea, we may steal that one!!
The first year my sister was mobile, my parents put the
tree in the playpen so she couldn't get to it. Silly looking,
but effective.
