How are you mamas ? Sorry I've been mia ... Im in the process of writing my birth story. Will post it shortly. But I wanted to ask if any of your babies have the newborn acne and what if anything you are doing about it. My LO s face is covered
My little boy has something, not sure if it's baby acne, or a rash. It comes and goes, one day he has it all over his cheeks, forehead and neck, and the next day is clear.
A friend of mine suggested putting a dab of breastmilk on baby acne. Seemed to help our LO. Sometimes I forget though and it goes away the next day anyway.

DS has been lucky and hasn't gotten it yet *knocks on wood* but I've heard there's really nothing you can do about it. Since it's hormonal and not b/c of oily skin there's no solution other than time. But trying a dab of BM on it like PP suggested is something I'd probably try since it's not exactly using a 'product' on LO's skin.
Thanks ladies:) my LO has gotten the pimples a few days ago and so far they are spreading and not getting better but she is not bothered by it at all so Im not too alarmed. I'll watch it for a few more days if it gets much worse I'll take her in just to make sure...
I know that some people say this doesn't help or not to do it at all, BUT what helped our LO clear up in a week or so was washing his face several times a day. We would either wash with just a warm wash cloth or put a dab a baby soap on the wash cloth. We started to notice a difference in a day or two and then it cleared up completely within 2 weeks.
Organic extra virgin coconut oil. I know it sounds weird since it is an oil but it dries up my zits overnight, so I thought I would try it on my LO. His acne started clearing up right away! I use it as a moisturizer too for both him and myself (and my skin has never looked better!).
We don't do anything. If it helps call it "newborn rash" instead of acne I freaked out when I saw them all over her, but the nurses said it will go away on its own.

Coconut oil is also an antifungal, which could be why it works. My pedi recommended it as a moisturizer and a topical treatment for thrush.
