What to Expect is not a great book, lots of horror stories and false information. I've been reading the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy and it is much more factual, unbiased, and keeps the scary stuff confined to one chapter

My insurance company sent me the Mayo Clinic Guide and it is excellent. Husband has been reading it, too, because it's nice and factual.
Re: natural birth mamas what are you reading?
Yeah. Last time we were not prepared at all and it didn't go well. This time all parties involved will be well educated dang it!!!

I read tons during my first pregnancy. Right now I'm reading a book on postpartum depression and healing with supplements and diet rather than drugs.
I HIGHLY suggest Penny Simkin's Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn. All of my clients get a copy of it from me.

You said you give them to your clients? Are you a doula or how do you work with new moms?
Yep, I'm a doula and I work with pregnant and parenting teens. :-)
